However, certain ingredients will need to be outsourced (i,e: Lamb, Venison, Duck, Rabbit, Vitamin Packs, etc.) to ensure top quality and freshness while meeting a reasonable price point for pet parents. The Lamb is sourced in New Zealand, the Salmon Oil is sourced in Chile and the Duck is sourced in France.

Chicken Soup for the Soul is one of the BEST dog food brands on the market. First, for those that who don't know, ingredients are listed by weight, so it's important to choose foods that list meats and vegetables as their first ingredients. FILLERS contain little to no nutritious value, so avoid those at all costs. Also, BY-PRODUCTS are often made from the beaks and feet of chicken etc...again, they offer LITTLE TO NO nutritious value. If you look at the ingredients in Chicken Soup, the first FOUR ingredients are real meat. Therefor, I believe that brand this makes an excellent choice for those pet owners who are conscious of their dogs health and longevity. Do not be fooled by mass produced dog food brands that use colorful bags and words like, organic, healthy, or real, natural ingredients. Stay informed, and simply look on the back of the packaging, where the truth is clearly laid out.

I found this uncommon brand by researching the internet. Some pet publication had all the dog foods ranked by quality and price. I was already using a high-quality food and I was curious how my brand ranked. My puppy barely finished her food all day long and was a bit skinny. I saw this brand ranked much higher than my fancy dog food and was much cheaper. I saw the reviews were great, so I ordered it. My puppy eats all her food now. It could be in part due to my training on how to eat her food etc. I have tried both wet and dry. Both are very well made. I recently switched to all dry kibble now. I use the kibble for training treats as well as food. This prevents overfeeding and keeps her diet consistent.
