Chicken Soup for the Soul Adult Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe Dry Cat Food, 4.5-lb bag

I was guided to this brand by a knowledgeable pet food store owner in Brooklyn, NYC, who showed me that it had the same ingredient list as the more expensive brand I had been feeding my cat, Velcro, for many years. After a serious urinary tract issue, Velcro did well on Chicken Soup; but recently, supplies of the Senior Cat Hairball Formula became scarce, and I tried the Adult Formula. I checked with experts, both here and on other sites, about the danger of such a switch, and was told that while the fat content was quite a bit higher, the protein was about the same, so if Velcro tolerated the new food, it would be fine. He devoured it! He's almost 20, and, excepting a recent flea-induced bout of anemia, has weighed the same for many years. Though he has dental and vision issues, his penchant for flying-squirrel-like jumps remains undampened, and I expect this fine food to fuel many more takeoffs in the future.

Our cats are fat so we mix this 1/2 to 1/2 of the weight control Chicken Soup catfood. It's like mixing rice and french fries - they get a little of both. They love it and it's a great price and a wonderful food with many nutrients they need but no fillers and icky stuff they don't need. It's worth every penny we pay for it - we have healthy cats with beautiful coats. We also love some of the other holistic foods Chewy.com offers. We order for them exclusively. We do feed ferals but they get the outdoor feral catfood such as friskies, etc. It will do them well as I had an indoor cat that lived on it 19 years and was fine but it is less expensive and they don't belong to us; we just feel sorry for them. But this time for our indoor only cats we are going holistic and will see if it does them better in the long run. Most sites say it does so we spend the extra pennies. But whatever you choose to feed - Chewy.com has it all and the service and fast shipping is great. We order over 49 bucks each time and we get free shipping. How wonderful is that!!!!

We recently adopted Mya, a young 3 year old female Chocolate Seal Point Siamese from MIchigan Siamese Rescue. Based on their recommendation, we purchased this dry cat food for her. We found out two of our other cats (Coco [Siamese Seal Point] and Rocky [Snowshoe]) also like it. When checking ingredients chicken is the main ingredient. Definitely recommended.
