Bad product bad customer service

We usually have these on AutoShip for 4 bags every two weeks and recently removed our auto ship order because of the bad quality of bones that we’ve been receiving lately. I’ve tried to communicate with chewy the issue, but they just respond that they can’t communicate with their warehouse and hide behind a disclaimer that this is a natural product that can vary. Their supervisor walk-through didn’t even work. But at the end of the day, they are advertising turkey tendon strips. And I could understand if the color varies from package to package, which has happened in the past. But the fact that they are sending something completely different than what they are advertising, that appears overcooked, super dark, super hard, curled up in balls, and doesn’t reflect at all of what they are advertising. My dogs usually look forward to receiving their bones from chewy but with lot#HB000280, they won’t even touch them. We removed our auto ship order. I feel like it’s bad customer service that they don’t have the capability to communicate with the warehouse that sends out their product, and continue to send me the same batch of bones that I have given them the lot number and expiration for numerous times. I guess just know it’s just luck of the draw with chewy, sometimes you get what they advertise sometimes you get the remnants of their bad product. After all the back-and-forth with them, you would think that they would take care of me and refund my money but instead they’re holding onto my money until I send back their bad product that they said they wouldnt send me anymore. I wish they would’ve done what they said they were gonna do and not send me the bad product to begin with. Terrible product and terrible customer service

I first purchased this item in the smaller size and had a GREAT response from Mia. She received one everyday after taking her medicine, and while she very much disliked taking it, she knew she would get the treat after so she was compliant and eager LOL However, purchasing the same product but larger size was not as great as I hoped and expected. The first were pretty much all very long and skinny. This bag is mostly very very tiny pieces and look as though they're 'leftovers'. Not sure how well you can tell in the attached picture & unsure how else to explain it, but it's unlikely that I'll purchase this product again. Word of advice - especially if you have smaller dogs, make sure you are monitoring when they are eating. There's been a time or two that she got a piece stuck and was choking, so I intervened.

I've been buying these for almost 5 years now from Chewy. These are manufactured in partnership by Chewy, not an outside vendor. They have always been consistently great quality and my pups have always loved them. They love them so much that I calculated the number of 1 lb bags I've purchased over the 5 yrs and its close to 50 bags. In October I bought two and the quality is garbage! The pieces don't even resemble long turkey tendons, they are fat short sections all stuck together permanently with what appears to be WAY too much glycerin added. It made the treats sticky and greasy. I gave my 18 lb Shih-poo one first thing in the morning like usual and within a few minutes he vomited violently. This was the only thing he ate. I gave them the old batch that I still had some left from, and all was ok. I tried the new batch a few days later with my 15 lb. Malshi and about an hour later she vomited. I reached out to Chewy and they offered a prepaid label to return them for a refund. I also contacted manangement and placed a complaint over the change of manufacturing process on these (they also changed the packaging at the same time) and to Chewys credit, management seemed to take this seriously and emailed me back promptly with questions, wanting more photos etc. However, I have not heard back and looking at the newest reviews, I do not see that there has been much of a change in the quality. I would recommend DO NOT BUY until Chewy can figure out what the manufacturing change they made was and get it back to the quality and safety that we have all expected from Chewy.

The Chewy Made Turkey Tendon Dog Treats have been a huge hit in my house. My dogs absolutely love them and get excited every time I bring the bag out. The tendons are long and fairly thin, which makes them easy to handle while still giving my dogs a satisfying chew for a few minutes, which is perfect for a quick reward or distraction. Overall, these treats strike a great balance between being enjoyable, functional, and a more mindful choice. I’ll definitely be keeping these on hand as a go-to treat.

I, like many others, stopped buying these turkey tendons when quality tanked several months ago. Just decided to roll the dice with gift card $ and happy I did-they're long, fairly uniform, nice golden color and fill the bag= like the good ole days! I hope this continues as my 3 amigos love these.

Why are these so 'spindly' looking?

The first few 'servings' of these were really good and she enjoyed them......but after several of these, it almost seemed that she was not chewing them completely

The first few 'servings' of these were really good and she enjoyed them......but after several of these, it almost seemed that she was not chewing them completely and I thought she had a piece of the long 'pencil' width strip lodged somehow in the roof of her mouth..... I frantically tried opening her mouth and she continued to resist me putting my fingers inside her mouth but she was acting as if that was exactly the case, like she knew that it did get stuck somehow but she didn't want me trying to get her jaw opened ? Then I became more nervous when she wouldn't drink water. . .long story short, she was okay after giving her a piece of white meat chicken that she ate immediately. Ultimately, for me it was a nerve racking span of scary minutes fearing the worst . So, in conclusion I'd have to say if your dog doesn't really chew jerky treats thoroughly, keep your eyes on them to be certain that they are able to chew these completely; our girl isn't a dog who inhales food or treats but these are too skinny to have anything to chew on, if that makes sense. If I had known these were as stringy as they are I would have decided against buying them . To put in simpler terms, these are not a replacement for Tylees turkey jerky., which is what I was hoping for essentially.

I’ve been buying this product for the past 10 years from Chewy. I’ve attached pictures so you can see the quality has greatly diminished and the product itself is questionable. The picture on the left is what I used to get the picture on the right is what I got now I am extremely disappointed as you can tell the product on the right not even turkey tendons as advertised. It appears to be vertically cut strips of chicken jerky. It’s it bits and pieces and turkey tendons are one long strips I know because I’ve been consistently buying these for the past 10 years. Turkey tendons do not break into shorter strips. I get very upset when my dogs food or treats are compromised.

Horrible quality control as of 2024/2025

I used to purchase these tendons all the time. The last two bags came as shown in the photo: instead of individual, thin strips, they come as clumps which are impossible to separate. I had to use garden shears to pry them apart, almost cutting myself in the process! Unfortunately, I am seeking another company for a similar product. What a shame. Please notify your manufacture regarding this quality control issue. Thank you for your time!

Pug 6 months, high energy pug, likes them. He’ll play with it at first but will eventually start chewing on them. It will give me a good 5-10 mins of peace. BUT not something I walk away from, best keep them supervised. He’s not the greatest at gripping on to it so it doesn’t really tear apart into smaller pieces. He tends to start swallowing it like a snake & gags a little. Then I take it away. I actually bought these style of chews long before for my senior Boston Terriers, they really enjoyed them. But the tend to do the 2 bite them swallow with everything and they really never choked on them.

What changed with the quality lately.? These are expensive for us but our dogs love them. These are suppose to be in the shape of a stick. We buy two bags at a time and one bag was correct the other bag is small thick clumps and hard to break a part. Lately they appear to be over cooked too. For the price I hope they go back to the original tendons we have bought for years.
