If I am planning on mixing this with american journey grain free dry food what should the ratio be.

Talk to your veterinarian about complementing your dry dog food with a canned food that compliments his or her dietary needs as well as the appropriate ratio of dry to wet food to provide for each meal.

I was ready to pull my hair out - and THEN ... I saw this item come up on 'wet'food search. I thought "why not? if he didn't like it, I'd take it to the animal shelter' BUT - he LOVES it! My dogs absolutely loved it. I loved that it had no by-products or by product meal in it and that it is Grain-free with no corn, wheat, or soy. I was skeptical when I read that it was in gravy that it was going to be like so many others and be more gravy than meat but that isn't the case with this product. It is great that it has vitamins in it to help support your dog. I personally, mix it with my dogs dry food because they like it that way and it helps maintain their teeth, but you may just use it purely wet. It's an awesome product.

No hunger strike!

My dog has discontinued her hunger strike! She is a picky eater & Iv tried several kinds of wet food, which I add to her kibble. Normally she likes something new only for a couple days, even if I’m rotating the flavors throughout the week. She also refuses to eat cheap “junk food” & prefers high quality food and likes a variety of flavors. She loves the American Journey stews!! I got the chicken/beef variety pack and it’s been 2 weeks and she’s excited for meal time every time...no skipped meals since buying this food. The gravy is very thick and slimy & the meat chunks are big. I water it down & add dry food & warm it all up in the microwave for 30secs to make a sort of stew. She loves it! Thank you Chewy for making a good quality yummy food. I also use the American Journey grain free kibble and recently tried their grain free cookies & she loves all of it.

We haven't had this old girl for very long but in the first 2 weeks it was very hard to get her to eat. We tried a lot of different wet foods - cheap, expensive, gravy, pate - we added extra water and cheeses and bread and served it warm and cold. She'd eat sometimes but never seemed to be too excited about the options and would often leave half uneaten. I wanted to try this since it was BOGO and it seems like decent quality for the regular price, and it's a good thing I did because she eats it up! She just gets one can every night and nibbles on dry food throughout the day. It's exciting to see her excited to eat! Hopefully this ~15 yr old keeps on liking this stuff for a long while!

My 14 year old Beagle became very ill last month. His red blood count dropped very low and he was terribly anemic. He also stopped eating. The vet said to take him home and spoil him in the short amount of time he had left. I immediately went to Chewy.com and ordered him grain free American Journey wet food. Does he ever love that!! Not only does he eat every bit I give him, but he begs for more! He acts like a puppy again instead of an old sick dog. He does zoomies all over the house and has more energy then he's had in months!! His red blood count has improved dramatically. Thanks to Chewy's amazing sale, I was able to purchase a buy one get one free deal! Thank you Chewy for giving us more time with our wonderful little man.

Something has changed, and not for the better.

Until several months ago, my rating would have been a solid 5 stars. My dogs have been eating American Journey Stews for years. I get several cases via auto-ship every few months. Sadly, I've noticed a difference with the past 2-3 orders. Cans are no longer stuffed full. The "stew," which used to be very thick is now more of a soup quality. It now takes more than one can of food to give my dogs the same quantity one can used to provide. At first I thought maybe it was just a fluke, like a batch was inadvertently over-watered and cans were under-filled. Nope! Something has definitely changed. I suspect the quality/quantity was lessened as a means of cutting costs. Very disappointed. If there was a public announcement of recipe changes, I missed it and sure would love to see it. I'm continuing to order this but am looking for a replacement. Have also started home-cooking for my dogs, which requires diligence in making sure the recipes I use include the proper ingredients, including vitamins and supplements.
