I typically prefer to buy treats per pound rather than per piece. I understand that natural products can vary in size, however when asked about the product weight,

I typically prefer to buy treats per pound rather than per piece. I understand that natural products can vary in size, however when asked about the product weight, Chewy answered approx 1.9 lbs. The product specifications show 2.17 lbs. While I think the price I paid was decent, the product I received was 22.9 oz or 1.4 lbs, quite different from what I was expecting. I think this misunderstanding could have been avoided if the updated product packaging was in the photos. It’s printed directly on the label. I also noticed a little dead bug/larvae at the top of the bag, so I put the bag in the freezer for a few days just in case. I know these gullet chews are irradiated, so I’m not sure exactly at what point it got in there. Despite those concerns, esophagus is one of the treats my dog will reliably enjoy. I think the irregularly shaped ones provide good mental enrichment for him, and it looks like the expiration date is 2026, so it’s pretty fresh.

The minute I opened the pack, Cassie (chihuahua) and Bandit (cattle dog) were begging. Bandit took her first bully stick and hid it in our yard and came back for a 2nd one to eat immediately. My dogs are PICKY. But these bully sticks hit the mark. Cassie is an old lady - 10 year old chihuahua - with teeth have seen better days. She was able to eat this bully stick rather quickly and clearly enjoyed every minute. They do not smell like some bully sticks. They can split as they eat them so there is a bit of clean-up after they are done. that might be the only downside. Otherwise, highly recommend.

My pups adored them! They are the same brand as the braided bully sticks we buy but have a different flavor. They are bored with the normal treat. However, I have two large dogs. Neither of them bothers to lay down to eat them and it take less than a minute to finish. So, if you have power chewers and want them to be busy for a few minutes, this is not the treat to use - hence 4 instead of 5 stars. However, I would give if 5 stars for their excitement and to vary the types of treats I give them. They view it as a high value treat!

So we’ve been ordering these for YEARS - they’re a favorite treat of my pup’s - this last bag (same bag I always get on Autoship) was 1/2 the size! Just the tiniest pieces compared to what we’re used to! I weighed the bag and it was almost 1/2 the weight stated on the package! Luckily, Chewy makes it easy to return, but I’m concerned this will be false package info moving forward!

They don't last long, but are a great treat.

I ordered this thinking it was bull penis, but it's actually gullet (esophagus). I was going to leave a bad review because of how quickly my dog inhaled it, but this product was very honest and I feel like it was my fault for expecting that and not fully reading the product. It says what it is, it's gullet and it even says in the description that they don't last long, so I gave 4 stars for an honest description. Also because of the Chewy deal, I got a 50 pack for only $21. My dogs do love them. The smaller dog actually got a good chew out of them, but I don't recommend them for large dogs, as mine crunched it up and swallowed it in literally 1 minute, but it does serve as a nice treat!

Love them!

I have two adopted Beagles and each has their favorite treats they enjoy. But, both of them go crazy when they hear me pull out the bag and are right next to me waiting for their favorite treat. They are perfect for a 15-20 lb dog and get them as their nighttime treat. I was ordering the 25 piece bag, but, this month I am upgrading to the 50 piece box. These two little scent hounds come running from two rooms away when they pick up the scent of the treat. I only wish that they lasted a bit longer. But, compared to purchasing them from any of the Pet Specialty Stores the price is so much better from Chewy. As soon as the Chewy box is delivered they start to smell it to see what treats have arrived for them.

Great for small dogs!

Just rescued a 3lb yorkie whose mouth was in bad shape. He had 10 teeth pulled. He only has his canines & back molars left. I was hoping to find something small

Just rescued a 3lb yorkie whose mouth was in bad shape. He had 10 teeth pulled. He only has his canines & back molars left. I was hoping to find something small enough for his tiny mouth that would help keep his remaining teeth healthy. He loves these & they work like a charm. He can chew on one stick for probably 6-8hrs total. Just make sure you throw away the end when it gets small enough to fit in their mouth to avoid choking.

Great Snacks for Large Dogs

Even though our pup is 60 pounds, we get these small bully sticks as little snacks for her. They only last about 5 minutes, but they are cheap and we use them for

Even though our pup is 60 pounds, we get these small bully sticks as little snacks for her. They only last about 5 minutes, but they are cheap and we use them for various things. While training I would give her a chew while walking at the park on a congested day where there was a ton of people with a ton of dogs and distractions . It was like I gave her a job, to carry her treat stick. Which worked wonderfully. They're also great to have during a severe thunderstorm that shake the house , or to just throw one to give you enough time to distract them and get out the door to work. Great teeth cleaners and a nice smalk chew for big dogs.

Choking hazard

These treats splinter and string. I have two <15 lbs dachshunds. It made one of my dogs choke (from trying to swallow the stringy part while still chewing the end)

These treats splinter and string. I have two <15 lbs dachshunds. It made one of my dogs choke (from trying to swallow the stringy part while still chewing the end) and throw up. It got stuck in his throat and top of his mouth and I had to pull it out as he was gagging. It was traumatizing for the both of us. Definitely do not leave unsupervised. I took it away from my other dog as he started to choke too. Save your money and don’t buy these.
