Chewy Made Roasted Marrow Bone 6" Dog Treat (FORMERLY BONES & CHEWS), 1 count

I received my 6 inch Marrowbone today and I unwrapped it. I went to give it to my dog. And I noticed that all the marrow that’s inside was all dried and broken & totally crumbled inside the package so once I opened the wrapper all the marrow crumbled out, and then I noticed that there was a huge crack right down the side of the bone. And my dog, he’s a big dog and I thought that if I gave this to him, I would be very afraid that it would just snap. I’ve ordered these many times before and this is the first time that I noticed any damage. I complained and they are sending me a new one so just be careful and inspect the items before you give them to your dog to make sure that they are safe. But the one thing that I have to say for chewy is that they are very helpful if you need something replaced or if something was damaged .

Our girl loves these! We’ve been giving these to our German Shepherd since she was 4 months old (she’s a year now) and they still provide hours and hours of chewing fun. Each bone is the same length and very similar girth. It takes her about a solid hour of chewing to clean off the outside. These are her “stay occupied for hours treat” while we’re busy (like when we bring her to a brewery). The inside marrow can take up to a few weeks to fully clean out since it’s harder to reach. Even after they are fully cleaned out, she will continue gnawing on them for months. We have a full stock pile of cleaned bones that she still goes to. We actually small stockpile in a multiple rooms of our house so she always has something to occupy herself. We’ve done the “filled” bones (pumpkin, berry, etc.) but she absolutely prefers these. One thing I’ve noticed, since these are natural bones, some of the edges are a little thinner than others. Our girl isn’t a super aggressive chewer, but she has chipped off the thinner edges. Even if you aren’t paying attention, you’ll notice if your pup chips off a piece - you’ll hear the difference. Of the 20 or so we’ve purchased for her, we’ve thrown away 2 or 3. Overall, these are a solid treat, last a long time, and you can’t beat the price!

The box (with the marrow bones order) contained multiple items, including Pro Plan probiotics, beef marrow bones, and two Earth Rated boxes of 900 doggy bags each. Unfortunately, the marrow bones leaked during transit, and the grease seeped through the packaging, affecting the other items in the box. I had planned to store the doggy bag boxes neatly, but due to the leakage, they now have a greasy residue that may contain bacteria. I will have to transfer the bags into other containers, which is not ideal as the original boxes were compact and easy to stack. Attached is a photo of the condition of the box upon arrival for your reference. While I appreciate your excellent service, I wanted to bring this to your attention so future orders with similar items might be packaged in a way to prevent leakage issues.

We were looking for a new bone for our dogs and this really hit the mark! They were quickly drawn to it and didn’t want to give it up! I will say it can be messy. We let them outside in the grass to chew on it. When they were done we placed it in a ziplock bag and put it into the refrigerator for next time. It’s a good size for our large and x-large dogs.
