I received this food from Chewy in return for an honest review, and my miniature black and tan long-haired dachshund, Oscar (6 years old), was eager to try it. Oscar has had weight issues in the past, so he’s been on weight-control food for several years. I was able to mix Chewy’s Healthy Weight Formula with his regular food without any problems—no digestive issues and no hesitation from him. He now eats it twice a day and also enjoys it in his interactive toys. Since starting this food, his weight has remained stable, and his energy levels are just as strong as ever. Oscar is playful, happy, and clearly enjoys mealtime. I appreciate that this formula supports weight management while still offering balanced nutrition with protein, vitamins, minerals, and prebiotics. It’s reassuring to know he’s getting what he needs without compromising his health goals. Overall, this food has been a great fit for Oscar, and I would recommend it to other pet parents looking for a reliable weight-control option their dogs will actually enjoy.

We so wanted this weight management Chewy brand dog food to work with our McGee (AKA potato monkey). He needs to lose some weight. He really liked this food -- gobbled it down. No runny stools at first. Or a couple of weeks later so we added to autosubscribe for him. Good price, he liked it. But then we noticed that he always seemed to smell like poop. And our other dogs kept smelling his butt even more. And his butt didn't look clean after he pooped. The only thing that had changed with McGee was this dogfood. And, a smelling like poop dog who weighs over 100 pounds is too much of a dog to deal with this food. We're moving McGee back to his old food and will just try to lower his food intake for his weight goals.

I received a large bag of the Chicken & Brown Rice kibble dog food. Of course it was in a large box. I always make a big deal with my dogs when they receive anything
I received a large bag of the Chicken & Brown Rice kibble dog food. Of course it was in a large box. I always make a big deal with my dogs when they receive anything in the mail. They were very excited. I gave them some mixed with their existing kibble so it wouldn't upset their tummy. They enjoyed it very much. They usually get the small breed size pieces of kibble and the Chicken & Brown Rice is a bit larger kibble. My smaller Pom had a little difficulty eating it but still liked it very much. It was a real treat!

We are all very surprised with this food here! My senior dog absolutely loves it and it's actually been better for his stomach vs. the prescription brand he was on. It has high quality ingredients with no fillers/ fat that most brands have and he really seems to prefer it over the other food we have been buying. We have even noticed his bowel movements and such have been much better. I plan on continuing to purchase this food going forward and as a bonus the price point is a lot better vs. Our previous brand as well.

Chewy’s Healthy Weight dog food is a success!
My dog FINN is an 11 1/2 year old Golden Retriever. He is a big boy -84 pounds- so I was very happy to have the opportunity to review Chewy’s Healthy Weight dog
My dog FINN is an 11 1/2 year old Golden Retriever. He is a big boy -84 pounds- so I was very happy to have the opportunity to review Chewy’s Healthy Weight dog food. We have been using another brand of healthy weight kibble, but we usually have to add a special treat on top to get him to eat his meal ( usually unsalted green beans). However Finn seems to prefer the Chewy dog food to the other brand. He has been eating it without add ons and I have been giving him pieces of kibble for treats! We give him a cup twice a day and occasionally top his meal with a little unsalted chicken broth and it seems to be working out very well! We recently had a guest dog for a few days and he was very happy to receive the Chewy’s Healthy Weight kibble as a treat as well! I will definitely be purchasing Chewy’s Healthy Weight dog food in the future.
