Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

What ingredients are different than other flea meds

Does this dose matter for the weight of my cats? They are 17 and 20 pounds each and the Advantage XD has same type ingredients but has size options and larger size lasts two months compared to the 6 weeks. Is the weight difference going to affect it working properly?

It's been 3 weeks and my cat still has a bunch of fleas on his ears and nose. Should I apply another treatment and hope it will eventually work or assume it's not going to work for him and try something else?

Answer by ChewyAug 02, 2018
If you see fleas on your cat within a month after your pet receives flea treatment with Cheristin for cats, it is most likely these are new fleas that have very recently emerged from pupae and jumped onto the cat. These new fleas will be killed quickly before they can produce eggs that contaminate the environment.Consistent monthly application of Cheristin for cats should be maintained to provide continued protection for your cat against these fleas.

Is this the same strength that I can buy at the vet's office?

Answer by ChewyJun 27, 2018
This treatment is equivalent to treatments sold at a veterinarian office.

Best flea drops without prescription!

I really needed something as close to Revolution, but without needing the vet visit for my cats to get the prescription. My friend recommended this flea medicine to me, as her mom uses it on the feral cat colony she takes care of. I'm very happy with it, it actually worked FASTER than the Revolution, it didn't leave behind that greasy spot on the back of their necks, and they had no adverse side effects or reactions to it. I've tried every over the counter flea drops before this and always felt I was just throwing money out the window because they just do nothing at all. I will re-order the 6 doses of this every few months as needed. They all say its a monthly preventative but when I used to use Revolution, one dose lasted at least 6 months, I will see how long this lasts for. My cats are indoor/outdoor and seem to only get the fleas about every 6 months. But we don't have a lot of grass, if your cat/dog lays in grass often, it may be needed more frequently.

It’s taken me 6 months to be able to write this but I was recommended this medication as a “gentle” alternative for my senior cat by a vet. (Was precociously using advantage multi) He’s an indoor cat who was allergic to fleas but we have a dog in the household. The day after applying this he seemed lethargic and had a fever. The next day I noticed he was not drinking water so I took him to the emergency vet where he passed. He was in good health prior to taking Cheristen and I have since found many other cat owners with similar stories to mine online. Although Cheristen may not kill your cat, due to different genetic predispositions, it definitely harmed mine and I would NEVER encourage anyone to try this for their cats.

We have 6 cats. We had a horrible flea problem that was not being resolved with other drops, flea collars, and home sprays. I saw the reviews for this brand and decided to try it. Wow! After 2 months, fleas were gone and have not come back. A few of the reviews said to be careful applying to older cats. I have 2 ages 13, 14 and they did not have any adverse effects. The 14 year old is allergic to fleas and would get horrible scabs. Fleas, gone. Scabs, gone.

Tried Cheristin On My Six Cats Here's How It Went.

Working with the Copilot AI, was informed Pet Armor and Revolution are no longer consider effective in South Florida. Only the Plus part of Pet Armor and Revolution Plus are effective against fleas. On the advice of the Copilot AI considering our circumstances, purchased the Cheristin Flea Treatment. Note: It is only for fleas, no known effect on ticks, ear mites, etc. Applied an applicator (opens and closes like a faucet, cap doesn't come off) to each cat. Fairly effective on fleas though its tappers off over the month. Three of the cats came through just fine. One cat lost a lot of fur where applied. Two of the cats have a white line of bare skin showing through their fur where Cheristin was applied, so far, no sign of it growing back. Looks like there is a 50/50 chance of a good or bad result using Cheristin. Didn't see any information regarding this.

I was nervous to try a flea medication, but my family owns five dogs and take them out, snd I take my own cat out, so fleas are bound to come up once in a while. But so far this medication has been so good, she gets a little itchy from it but after a day she’s perfectly fine. It’s been working and she hasn’t gotten invested at all, when I do find a flea it’s literally dead and just drops off her! Best flea medication! Won’t stop using!

One size fits all-none of that buying 3 boxes because all your cats are in different weight ranges. Vials open easily with just a twist. I flea combed all 11 cats 12 hours or so after applying it and didn't find but 2 fleas on all 11 kitties. They were gone. It's been 2 weeks now and still not one flea. None of the 11 cats had any reaction at all to the Cheristin, which is great. What I don't like is that it stayed wet for over a day--some of the dose wicks up the hair at the application site, this cannot be avoiding with these topical products, and after 24 hours, I gently blotted the spot with a Kleenex, just pressed down on the wet spot, no rubbing. Next day, the fur was dry. This issue was not unique to Cheristin, every topical I've ever used caused this. Cheristin is half the price of my old product and works very well, maybe better than it did. I will continue to choose it.

I found myself with a huge flea problem. I baby sat for a friends dog. Needless to say the dog had been in our house for 3 days when we noticed she kept scratching. After looking closely at her she was infested with fleas. The poor thing was bathed immediately and thank goodness we had some capstar on hand because you can’t put spot on flea treatment until 24 hours after a bath. We use frontline for our 3 kitties and our little dog. I made sure I put flea medication on all our pets and we sprayed flea spray on the bed the puppy was laying on. Well that wasn’t good enough. Within a month we were infested. Apparently I should have treated all my furniture and washed all throw rugs. I thought I did enough. We have all wood floors. One of my kitties back started getting sores because of the fleas. None of the other animals were being effected. I took her to the vet and they told me she is allergic to fleas. I spent over $2000 getting my house flea free. I continued using Frontline. Sammy my kitties back just got worse with bites. I tried everything. I saw some reviews about this flea medication and had read about similar situations as mine. It is a little pricey but if it could help her I would pay anything. We put on the first dose on all our kitties. I couldn’t believe how they didn’t get that huge oil slick on their backs for a week like they did with Frontline and Advantage. We barley noticed they were treated. Within 2 days Sammy’s back cleared up. I can tell she is happier and healthier. I will only buy Cheristin from now on. Best stuff on the market so far. I live in Florida where our flea season is 12 months long. I did keep my friends dog because she didn’t want to go home after being with us for 2 weeks.Bella loves it here.

Our cat has a serious flea allergy so we know from welts and bumps when she had picked them up. As an indoor/ outdoor cat that used to be constant, but since she started on Cheristin 7 months ago she has no problems. That long fur of hers is not hiding any fleas, based on the healthy skin underneath.

Cheristin is the only topical flea treatment that actually works for my cats. I’ve tried them all, at great expense, and since using Cheristin, we have been flea free. The only reason I had to buy this now is we fostered 5 feral kittens. They had fleas so I got this for preventative measures for my adult cats. When the kittens are large enough, they will get this, too. In the meantime, it’s flea baths in dish soap, combing and picking the blood suckers off of them!

It's been a month since i applied Cheristin to my 3 cats. Prior to trying this product, i too was trying many things which led to no success of the removal of the fleas and their cycle. I too, thought the fleas were increasing daily. My poor cats. Then i researched reviews and read over 100 of them. I made the decision to purchase the Cheristin on Chewy. Within 4 days w/ one cat, and a day w/ the other 2 cats, they finally cleared up!! I have since combed my cats w/in the month, and every time, they have turned up clean. My cats are indoors, and i live in Maine. I understand that i can track in fleas from being outside, so therefore they will continue to get this treatment, especially in the spring/fall. Treating my lawn is an option too w/ another product so that this situation can stay in control of having NO FLEAS and their life cycle. I would definitely recommend this product to your animal who is suffering. If they could speak, they would tell you Thank you!!!
