Cesar Wholesome Meals Beef, Chicken, Carrots, Barley & Green Beans Recipe Wet Dog Food, 17.6-oz pouch

I have to admit that I was very surprised by this particular product. I am an owner/breeder/showperson of Dogues de Bordeaux, a giant breed. Of course I knew that this small package wasn't going to satisfy a full meal for one of my dogs...But, I thought, what if I use this as a topper for my picky eaters? I have 3 of 5 dogs that are very picky and need to be coerced into eating their meals. When I opened up the package the first thing I noticed was that this food did NOT smell like normal dog food. The Cesar Wholesome Meals Beef smelled like a beef stew or possibly a beef roast with veg. You can SEE the beef, shredded chicken,diced carrots & green beans. It doesn't look like a brown hodge podge of something pressed together with gravy thrown on top, it looks like human food. I split the pouch, which contained more than you would think by looking at it, between all 5 dogs. Every dog was anxious to tuck into their meal and even the picky 3 couldn't eat fast enough. For small dog owners, this is a fabulous find for an entire meal, for those of us with large & giant breeds, I can highly recommend this as a topper and/or treat meal.

The CESAR Wholesome Meal came in a 1.1 pound package. One of the first things that I noticed when I opened the package was that it smelled and looked good. It was easy to see and smell the beef, chicken and vegetables in the package. I have two dogs under 20 pounds that literally licked their bowls clean as soon as I served it to them. On another feeding, I mixed it with the dry food they’ve been used to eating and used the Cesar Meal as a topper. They immediately ate the Cesar Meal, but left their regular dry food for a few minutes. They would have eaten more if I had another package. I will plan to purchase this as part of their diet in the future.

So Clover grabbed a marker and scratched out "Cesar" and wrote "Clover" on the pouch of food. She then proceeded to jump up and down until I scooped some of this yummy goodness into her bowl (she's a 70lb Lab/Dane). Banjo didn't even let me get the scoop of food into her bowl as she immediately licked it right off the spoon. Needless to say, both dogs LOVE this food! I love that I can see the actual ingredients of beans, carrots, barley, and meat. My dogs crave fresh vegetables so it is no wonder they enjoy this wet food. I use it as a meal topper over their dry food for a balanced meal. The pouch is large enough to hold steady and the top is wide to fit a spoon or scoop without the need to squeeze the food out of the pouch. This allowed for a more precise measurement of food. The bag seals tightly and stores in the fridge without taking up too much room. I stuck an "open date" note on my pouch as it needs to be used within 5 days of opening. The ingredients list is honest and clean and the dogs enjoy this food without any digestive issues so this will be a new addition to their daily meals. This is also healthy and the vegetables aid in immune and skin support for both dogs. Excellent value for the quality, amount, and cost. (My 3 cats also had a taste and were jealous. One cat snarled at Clover and swatted her behind for not sharing. I snuck them each a small scoop.)

We received the Cesar’s Wholesome Meals quickly from Chewy. The dogs love it. I use it as a meal topper in addition to their kibble. You can see lots of meat and vegetables in it. The only thing I dislike is the bag it comes in. The food is difficult and very messy to get out of the bag.
