As my senior pup Pepe entered the last stage of CKD his appetite really started to dip and his nausea was getting worse, he still sometimes had bouts of hunger but the vomiting was overwhelming him and after discussing with his vet, his recommendation was Cerenia and it really helped bounce him back to life. He was a lot happier and eating with more gusto and no longer vomiting and able to put some weight back on, he was only 4lbs so he couldn’t afford to lose anymore weight! Ultimately the disease took him about a month and half later but I think Cerenia did make him more comfortable and able to enjoy a lot of his favorite foods and treats towards the end of his life.

This Rx has really helped my senior Brussels Griffon manage her bonus time tummy issues. She has always been quite delicate and 3 or four vet visits a month with an ER visit thrown in can be “normal” when she is having trouble eating food (that she has regularly eaten for 12+ months). Over the lifetime journey she has been on (tried) 30 or more meal routines. Do be careful about wrapping anything around the Rx as warned. It does impact efficacy as noted in the directions. Of course thats tough since pups like mine are superior detectives at discovering the rx in any food. It has been a miracle for the past 4 weeks with our latest tummy trouble. Ultra sound next week. Thankful the vet recommended and Chewy is great for a larger more competitively priced supplies of Cerenia. It’s something in our specific situation she can take until the rainbow appears for her. I am grateful she can be more comfortable. Love that there are different doses to try as well.

My 14 yr old yorkie was dying from heart failure. The vet had already told me it was time to let go but he was still eating and playing and going outside to potty and very much wanted to be involved with his family and his brother Sebastian. The vet prescribed cerenia in the hopes it could help. It did help. On the 4th day, he was more active and was coughing or having the little tremors/seizures he had been having. He was back to himself for almost 2 weeks before he passed. The coughing fits had almost completely stopped. I am extremely grateful for that extra good days with my little man. I miss him so much.

We had ordered Cerenia (an excellent product for nausea) for our very sick elderly cat. It arrived the same day he sadly passed away. My husband called Chewy to ask if it was possible to return the item. The lady he spoke with was incredibly kind and issued a full refund. Then, to our tremendous surprise, sent a beautiful bouquet of flowers extending condolences from Chewy. The kindness of this gesture is appreciated more than they could ever imagine. What they didn’t know was that, in addition to losing my beautiful kitten and closest buddy of 17 years, I lost my Father just 2 months ago. As a Chewy customer since they opened years ago, I have been extremely happy with their service for my 5 cats and 2 dogs over the years. However, this completely warmed my heart and ensured that as soon as I’m ready to be a pet parent again, I’ll be a loyal Chewy customer for life. We cannot thank you enough for your kindness.

My best friend has terminal cancer and the Vet was out of the medicine that helps him feel "better". The customer service rep and the Pharmacist were both very kind in helping me get the meds for my best friend as quickly as possible. He only had to miss one and a half days and we kept his symptoms (nausea and sometimes vomiting) at bay. While he is now not eating anymore, he is drinking alot of smart water going outside on his own, still going upstairs. He is comfortable. Thank you, I believe the Pharmacist was Julie. I wish I remembered the customer service lady's name as she was amazing as well.

My dog has G.I. issues, specifically hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Every once in a while, like every month or two, he is going to have an episode where he starts throwing up and once the floodgates have opened it’s not going to stop on its own. Once he is many throw ups into this, I nearly always have to take him to an urgent care for supportive care including and the shot of this medication. Recently I found we had an extra from a previous episode to give it to him after the first throw up and everything was under control with no urgent care visit. It’s the only thing that helps him, other anti-nausea medication just don’t work. I asked our vet if we could have a small supply of these on hand for these instances, since this is a known, chronic condition, and she agreed and gave us this prescription. I am very grateful and feel well equipped for the next incident, which I hope will be well into the future.

Our sweet boy, Gattino, was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and unfortunately was in the minority of cats who react poorly to the meds (and naturally he loathed the prescription food). Our vet discontinued the thyroid meds and added supportive ones in their stead- including Cerenia- while we wait for his radiation appointment. The difference this drug has made in his day-to-day life has been monumental. He's no longer vomiting or precipitously losing weight, has more energy, and is clearly happier and more comfortable. I don't always want to sit in Los Angeles traffic to get his refill, so put in a request here on Chewy. Even with the vet approval wait period, it came promptly- and actually faster than tracking had originally indicated. Obviously pleased with the meds, but am likewise thrilled with the service. Thanks, Chewy!

Life Saving for my KD Cat

My cat Craig is 14 and has kidney disease which causes him to be very nauseous and starts a cycle of avoiding food and water for days at a time when it gets bad

My cat Craig is 14 and has kidney disease which causes him to be very nauseous and starts a cycle of avoiding food and water for days at a time when it gets bad. He ended up overnight the vets office more than once with severe dehydration and constipation from this cycle and we nearly lost him. The vet prescribed this to be used as needed and it's been a game changer. I've found that if he avoids two meals it's an indicator that he's not feeling well and is on his way to not drinking. A few hours after feeding him pill pockets with this medicine and he's eating and drinking like a champ! It's amazing to have something that I know will make him feel better and will stop the cycle of water/food avoidance. This has literally saved his life in the last year.

My 15-yr old senior cat was diagnosed with pancreatitis and IBD three months ago. He potentially got small intestinal lymphoma but for his age we decided not to perform any invasive surgery/treatment. Doesn't matter what/how we feed and treat him, he still vomits 3-4 days per week, unless he takes Cerenia. Talked to my vet and she suggested putting him on low dosage of Cerenia every other day, likely indefinitely. It's been a month and now he vomits every 7-10 days. By stopping frequent vomiting, he is slowly gaining his weight and muscle back.

I have used Cerenia for a little over 3 years and it works very well. I have noticed others stating how hard it is to get cats to take the pill, and it can be very hard, but there is some things you need to know and understand about Cerenia. Once you know these things, it may help you better get your cat to ingest taking the pill. #1. Cerenia is a very bitter pill and to also smells bitter to a cat and dog. In order to mask the smell, you MUST hide it into foods that have a very strong smell. and #2. Hide it in food that had a strong taste. Remember, you can CRUSH the pill up and mix it into any of their strong smelling and strong tasting treats and mix very well and leave it sit for about 30 mins before having them eat. Also make sure it is treats that are very wet like something that has gravy. Or in my case I mixed into a lil Soup, I just strained the meat piece out of it. You can also place the pill in a small, tiny ball of butter... if your cat or dog likes butter, you can do this. But make sure you put near the back of their throat if you do that. Good luck and Cerenia works well in spite of cats not wanting to eat it.
