How long do these last?

The filter should be replaced every 3-4 weeks or when there are visible signs that the filter is saturated with foreign matter (debris, food, hair, etc.) More frequent changes may be necessary due to indoor environmental and water conditions, as well as multiple pet use.

Do these filters remove flouride from tap water?

The filter does not remove flouride. The Catit Triple Action filter removes magnesium and calcium from tap water (2). These minerals can accumulate in your pet’s lower urinary tract and lead to urinary tract diseases, which is a common health issue for cats. It also removes odors caused by bacteria and chlorine (1), and retains stray hairs, sediment and debris (3).

I have 3 cats and I was changing the water in their bowl 3 - 4 times a day! It would get cat hair, dust particles and whatever else fell into it. Plus I like my cats to always have cold, clean and fresh water available to them. I ordered this fountain for a few reasons. 1. It has a filter. 2. It has a pump to keep the water circulating. 3. It is high enough that they don't have to bend down to get a drink. The first couple days after I set it up (beside their old water bowl) they would walk up to it and watch the water trickling over the flower. They were unsure of the little bit of sound the pump makes. At first they started out by dipping their paws into it and licking them or just playing in the water. However, I noticed the water in their old water bowl was not being touched. So I figured they must be drinking from the fountain. Sure enough on the 4th day I put a few ice cubes on top and my very picky Ragdoll kitty started drinking from it! And then dipped her paws in and bathed herself! This fountain is really awesome though!! Even with 3 cats drinking from it and playing in it, the water still stays clean! I take it apart once a week and clean it and put fresh water. When I took the filter part off I could see where it had actually caught the hair and other particles! The water just keeps circulating, so now I only have to change it once a week and they always have fresh, clean and cool water to drink!! (And bathe in) The cats are attracted to the moving water, so they are actually drinking more than they were before!! I love it!! We will never go back to a regular drinking bowl after using this awesome fountain!!

WARNING: Not the right filter!

This seems to be not a Chewy issue but a manufacturer issue. I've ordered these before with no issues and these replacements ones this time around are not the

This seems to be not a Chewy issue but a manufacturer issue. I've ordered these before with no issues and these replacements ones this time around are not the same filters for the Catit flower petal water fountain. The ones I received this time have a plastic grated plate attached to some odd felt like material on top (that's loose and fuzzy), and doesn't even fit in the water fountain. Typically they are without the plastic attachment, and the felt (?) material is solid hard and it is supposed to fit perfectly within the green bowel to filter the water. I almost asked for a replacement in case this was a mishap with the order but then I noticed other ppl seem to have the same issue and reviews so this seems to be a manufacturer error or change (that they told no one about). It came in the original same box as shown in the product page/image like previous times. Chewy was good to refund me this item but just beware if you are trying to get replacement filters for this water fountain and there is something wrong with these replacement filters. Please bring it up to Chewy so they can find out from the manufacturer as well (I already did).

My cats love the Catit water fountain! The filter does what it's supposed to do. I really like that the filter keeps the water flow clean and free of cat hair and other debris so that my cats get fresh clean water. I read some reviews about the fountain overflowing but I have not had that issue. I change the filters at least monthly and clean the fountain parts thoroughly when I do. I also take the pump apart and clean it using small brushes and white vinegar. I have two Catit fountains for 6 cats.

Catit Fountain Filters

My foster cat loves to play in water so I thought I'd try the Catit fountain and see if she liked it. She LOVES it and sits by it sometimes just to watch the water

My foster cat loves to play in water so I thought I'd try the Catit fountain and see if she liked it. She LOVES it and sits by it sometimes just to watch the water. It was a total hit! The filters aren't cheap but if bought in the 5 pack thru Chewy the price is much better. All the way around this is a good product!

Filters stop working after a week

I loved this fountain at first and the filters that came with it, as well as the first set of replacement filters, worked fine. But now, it seems like every replacement

I loved this fountain at first and the filters that came with it, as well as the first set of replacement filters, worked fine. But now, it seems like every replacement set of filters I get is full of duds. I thoroughly clean the fountain, prep the filter (rinse, submerge for several minutes, rinse again), and fill up the reservoir. After about a week, the filter stops working and water rises first, a foam appears around the edges, and then it overflows, even though the reservoir is nearly empty. I guess it's time for a new fountain.

I’ve been thru a bunch. I’m a pet sitter so I’ve cleaned and messed with all varieties. Some are so nasty to clean. Some are so hard to put back together. This fountain is easy to put back together. All three of my cats drink from it. Its not over the top expensive. It’s pretty cute too.

Two things going here, and they are both the same

As some other have noticed, the filters only last two weeks now. They used to last a full month. Something has changed with the product, I think the manufacturer

As some other have noticed, the filters only last two weeks now. They used to last a full month. Something has changed with the product, I think the manufacturer cut quality. In 2021 I bought this fountain (two in fact after we liked the first) for $26 on this platform. In 2024 that's now 48.89. But its not due to the original manufacturer, the price is the same on the manufacturers website. Chewy itself is the one jacking up prices. The filters were $16 for 5 in 2021 on this platform. In September 2024 they were $17.45, now they are $26.95 just two months later? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The filters are $8.99 on the manufactures website. What's going on Chewy? This is one of most clear cut examples of corporate greed I have seen recently. I'm done with you.

I was literally searching for replacement pump, I heard motor running but no flow, but what intrigued me ppl in reviews complained their pump stopped working usually after cleaning, and it happened to me too. It was because there is a switch on the pump itself which you accidentally pushed to the side during cleaning! I had no idea, and have this pump for about a year. If my cats like it? The first thing in the morning when I get up is plugging this fountain. My cats already sitting next to it, waiting. They love it and I love it. Thank You.

Frustrated with quality discrepancies

I bought 3 packages of filters from a pet store a while back. The first two filters out of the first package were wonderful. This second package has been terrible

The picture I added to this review is of the foaming that is currently happening with a filter I just placed in the fountain a week ago. I truly hope the other filters I have perform better.

Don't Order These Until they address this issue

The Carbon/black is coming out all over inside my fountain. Used 2 not and the same issue and if it's all over the bottom and stuck to the plastic parts of the fountain

The Carbon/black is coming out all over inside my fountain. Used 2 not and the same issue and if it's all over the bottom and stuck to the plastic parts of the fountain needing to be scrubbed off...It's circulating in the water. Also don't see any science on how they arrived at this amount of Water Softening pellets/salt for the size of the fountain. Concerning. The images show it' outside the filter. Inside the fountain its like this all over in the cracks.
