Earl is happy to get his fountain back!

Fountain was a gift from our vet a few years ago! After pump went out, it took me awhile to get a new one; then I got some more filters at a great price from Chewy!

Fountain was a gift from our vet a few years ago! After pump went out, it took me awhile to get a new one; then I got some more filters at a great price from Chewy! I may have to change more than once a month, as recommended, so I added them to his autoship ... he's very messy! (GET A JOB, EARL!)

We own 2 now. Filter needs to be replaced monthly for best use and the components thoroughly cleaned (Catit has a brush set that can be purchased to help keep cat water/filter stuff separate from human items that look the same). The water 'fan' may get gunked up with fine hair (we have silky med hair mixes that get everywhere) and it can wind into the mechanism. It's easy to tell when it's time for a thorough clean because the fountain arch will get lower and lower and disappear. Our cats want their fountain even though they don't drink from it. I believe they smell the difference in the water and what gets caught in the filter (kitty mouth slime) - I wouldn't want to drink my mouth washout either after 30 days :(. Love the low water feature and the low light (nightlight) as one of our cats likes to turn the bowl around to just his liking to drink - moves it around on the floor, not fun to kick in the middle of the night.

Catit Cutting Corners

As you can see here, and like several others have reviewed. Here recently it seems Catit has started to cut corners on their manufacturing of the Pixi Fountain Catit

As you can see here, and like several others have reviewed. Here recently it seems Catit has started to cut corners on their manufacturing of the Pixi Fountain Catit filters where they just put these tiny little sachets of activated charcoal and sofenter resin in each 1/4 section. Not at all how they were first manufactured when they first launched the Catit Pixi Fountain, at that time each 1/4 section was individually filled full with each material making it a very good filter and worked very well. Now we get this because or penny pinching, paper pushing, numbers people. I get so tired of seeing this type of stuff, especially when you pay the same price if not more since prices for everything has gone up, but quality goes down. Aside from this poor manufacturing decision of the filter, the fountain itself is good.

I ordered these along with two 22 pounds of IAMS cat food it was accidentally delivered to another address down the street from me was delivered on Saturday but I was very sick with bronchitis and didn’t think to check my emails due to battling high fevers but when I felt a bit better but my voice was just straight to return a little bit I went to the address it was delivered to and the lady was rude to me I showed her that it was delivered there and she got very upset but I told her it was ok and to have a nice day I called Chewy when I got into my car and they were so kind and so more then happy to send me another order no extra cost to me this the company that has integrity and you can rely on them and trust them that your pet or pets will be taken care of thank you Chewy for helping me and to whoever I spoke to on the phone thank you for being such a good kind person thank you

Filters that actually work

Our old cat loved the water out of the fountain. And the new one enjoyed playing with it and drinking fresh water out of the same fountain. Someone complained that

Someone complained that the fountain stoped working after six months. But you have to clean and wash all the “insides” at least once a week. And if your cat is fluffy like mine most likely hair got stuck on the water pump.

Where did the filter media go?

Been buying these filters for over a year now and never had an issue until the last batch I purchased in December. I noticed when I opened the box that the filter

Been buying these filters for over a year now and never had an issue until the last batch I purchased in December. I noticed when I opened the box that the filter media was hard as a rock in all 4 squares and there was hardly any there. The filters have always been full of loose charcoal and the filter media was hardly there. I used one in January and found myself having to use another filter half way through the month water was not being filtered properly and was stagnant. I change the filters once per month and water every 5 days. These filters just don’t work like this. I may have to switch to another brand that it’s my Catit Pixie Fountain. I wrote the company waiting on response. This is not Chewy’s fault at all. Anyone else notice the difference or maybe it was just a bad batch?

I was hoping running water over it for a while would dissolve the packets inside the filter, but it does not. Catit, please fix this issue!!

I’ve used the Pixi water filters before and noticed that every week when i clean out her water the filter has some slime on it. Well this week I went to clean it

I’ve used the Pixi water filters before and noticed that every week when i clean out her water the filter has some slime on it. Well this week I went to clean it and noticed that the filter turned black!!! They recommend you to change the filter every 30 days, I always change it on the 12th of the month. So to my surprise when I noticed that the filter is now turning black. Don’t get this if you value your cat and their lives.
