A good litter, not a great litter--is there such a thing? I don't usually buy scented in anything, but they were out of unscented, so I got one of the lavender and one of the vanilla. The scent didn't bother me or the cats. The lavender is barely noticeable but the vanilla is a little stronger, but not bad. The litter does not go far enough for the price. It says 60 days--no way with 3 cats. More like 2 weeks. It does track, but I've had worse litters in that department. The cats took right to it without any issue. But here's the huge con for me--when it gets wet, it becomes goopy glue--it sticks to the litter pan--which is stainless steel and the scoop. And when it dries it's like cement. If you have one cat maybe OK but with 3, even with multiple pans, this is not the litter for them.

My cats use it! Try transitioning them slowly

We've only been using clay litter so far and it's very dusty, so I wanted to try something new. The vanilla smell is very strong when pouring it into the litter box, but went away in an hour or so. Now it smells like nothing - there's no strong odor and only a faint vanilla smell! I wouldn't worry too much about getting this scented (I was also disappointed that there were no unscented versions but bought this anyways). I highly recommend mixing the pea husk litter into your existing litter for a slow transition, and adding a bit more every day. So far, my cats use it no problem. The fresh litter comes out in long pieces, but breaks down once wet and clumps together. I will say, it's a bit tricky to sift out the fresh pieces of pea husk because they're long, but I only have to shake my scooper a bit longer than I normally would. I'm giving this 4 stars because I haven't had my cats use a litter box with just this litter alone yet, but so far we're making great progress! I'm currently worried about how often I'll need to refill this litter though, but I do appreciate that there's no dust!!

I’ve never used scented litter before but Catit was a sponsor at the International Cat Show in Cleveland last year and I tried it there. The scent is lightweight and fades quickly which I prefer. I would like to see Catit make an unscented litter too. The qualities I love are the lack of dust, the cleanliness of the product, the fact that it is better for the environment, the lessened tracking and that I can travel with it on an airplane. The last reason might seem odd but try flying with a regular clumping clay litter. TSA will test it, often say it tests positive (for what I don’t know) and take it from you. And IMO, if you are flying with a cat and don’t carry a small amount of litter and a foldable waterproof litter box you are in trouble if there are flight delays or cancellations. My cats like the Catit and I find that it doesn’t cause me breathing difficulties and I have lung damage and asthma. Cleaning the litter box is a little bit different with Catit and that took a bit of time to get used to. I tip the litter box so that the clean litter and hard clumps move away from the wet lumps. It is then easy to remove the wet lumps by scraping the scoop against the bottom of the box. If you do it this way the clumps don’t break apart. I then go back and pick out the hard lumps. Yes, I do have to shake the scoop a bit more to isolate the feces clump and return the clean litter to the box. The little bit of extra time cleaning is well worth the benefits to me.

The lavender scent is my forever litter

Not to be dramatic, but I have tried every litter out there because I have a long haired cat, all wood flooring, and family members with asthma. EVERYTHING tracks

Not to be dramatic, but I have tried every litter out there because I have a long haired cat, all wood flooring, and family members with asthma. EVERYTHING tracks all over the house, gets stuck in my cat's long-haired feet, makes a bunch of dust that we don't want to breathe, and/or doesn't cover odor whatsoever. I've tried several wood pellet litters, clay litters of many brands, walnut litter, tofu litters, world's best (corn), even paper. They all had deal breaker issues. This has none of those issues and my only wish is that it were cheaper. I'm also terrified of them discontinuing it, because I don't see any other brand online for pea husk litter anywhere. This doesn't track anywhere beyond the mat right in front of the box. That's my number one priority and NO OTHER LITTER has ever accomplished that. It makes no dust at all. It has a pleasant smell in its own, and does a decent job with covering odor if you scoop daily. I've used litters that don't cover the smell one bit and you immediately know if your cat used it. This is not like that. It scoops super easily because the pellets are small and only the clumps remains. It also clumps hard and doesn't break up. It's just so perfect and it's even pretty to boot. It's like a miracle litter for me.

No dust or tracking!

I literally have been checking out all the alternative litters out there and none of them has been as good as this one so far. It doesn’t track and it’s not dusty

I literally have been checking out all the alternative litters out there and none of them has been as good as this one so far. It doesn’t track and it’s not dusty. It does stick to the pan pretty good it kind of turns into like a playdo substance. But no smells and the cat has chosen the new litter over his old.! I will say I did have to put both bags into the box so I don’t see it lasting 60 days maybe 30?

Catit vanilla litter is just simply the best. I’ve been on a four-month hunt to find a clumping litter that is dust-free, quick to clump, effective in odor control, and has low tracking. This is the 8th natural litter type that I’ve tried. I’ve tried World’s best, paper pellets, pine pellets, Okocat’s wood pellets and non-pellets, grass seed, and Michu’s tofu litter. This litter beats them all in every criteria. The Catit pea husk litter does an amazing job at clumping urine and drying up poop, making it more efficient and less wasteful. And it is the first litter that controls odor so well it makes me relieved that we can live with a stink-free home even with four cats. The light vanilla fragrance of the litter is also nice and not overwhelming, which was a problem with the Michu Original Tofu litter. As a big plus, it is actually dust free which means I am spending less time sweeping the floor and not getting annoyed with having dusty feet/paws everywhere. Try it out if you haven’t already!

After a dozen years using another brand, I got tired of the tracking, the dust all over the house and the teeny bugs that were in the bag with the corn litter. I think the quality had just changed. I researched heavily and decided to try Catit because it was natural and claimed to have low tracking and dust. I thought I ordered unscented but accidentally ordered vanilla and I'm glad I did! The fragrance is a soft, clean vanilla and not at all overpowering. The texture of the litter is soft and long and very clean looking. I have three cats and everyone used the boxes immediately without issue. It's easy to scoop. It really checks all the boxes and then some. ILooks like we've got a new kitty litter. Definitely worth your investment.

I usually never get litter with a scent, as they are usually just too strong. I really love the smell of this one though, it's a nice subtle vanilla smell. There is also no dust. The tracking is better than grass based litter, but it's not perfect. My cat is a messy litter user and he manages to drag the litter out pretty far still. It might be ok with a cat with better litter manners, but it's not a great fit for my cat. Package wise, I was hoping to get a cardboard box only and no plastic, but the litter is contained in a big plastic bag. Considering this litter is supposed to be eco-friendly, that's a bit disappointing to not go "all the way" to something more friendly for the environment.

Great litter - If you know a couple of things

This is the best litter I've found in decades of having cats. It does not stick to my cat's fur or to her feet. There is absolutely no dust, even after weeks of use. With one cat,and scooping the box twice a day, a box of CatIt litter lasts a month. My cat loves it. It forms lightweight clumps that are easily scooped. if you scoop urine balls immediately, they may smear a bit. Give them about an hour to dry. The clumps hold urine so well that I can put them in paper bags for disposal, and the bag doesn't even get wet. But there are some things you need to know. *The litter doesn't stick to your cat, but it will stick to your shoes or socks. If you sweep up litter that the cat may kick out of the box, tracking won't be a problem. If you step in the spilled litter, you will track it wherever you go. If your cat regularly scratches lots of litter outside the box, you may need a larger litter box. The box should be at least 1 1/2 times longer than your cat. This goes for any litter, not just CatIt. *You can't just change to this litter cold-turkey. You need to add a little of it to a lot of your old litter, and then over time, gradually increase the amount of this litter, until it's all that you are using. You also need to follow the scent-reducing hack below. * The scent. I don't normally like scented litter, nor does my cat. I called the company about this. They said that completely unscented pea husk litter smells sour, so they can't offer an unscented version. I found a solution. As soon as you get a new box of litter, open the top of the box and cut open the plastic sleeves inside, so the litter is exposed to the air. Put the open box somewhere out of the way so that it can air out. I go in and stir it every few days, to expose as much of the litter as possible to the air. After a few days to a couple of weeks, the scent will be gone, or much, much lighter. This works with the vanilla scent; I haven't tried it with the lavender. When I do this, my cat will choose this litter over any other. This litter requires a bit of planning ahead, so it can air out, but it's worth it. My cat and I no longer have asthma, because there isn't any dust, even when I scoop it. There is no urine or stool smell in my house. My cat no longer gets litter stuck to her hind end, and doesn't track litter all over my house.

My cats and I love this cat litter. It’s natural and made from pea husk. The litter box doesn’t stink after my cats do their business, and it doesn’t have any harsh smelling chemicals that reduce odors which is better for cats sensitivity to smells. It’s clumping and easy to remove urine & feces from the box. It also doesn’t get tracked out of their little box as much as regular clay litter does, plus it’s easier to see where it’s at if they do track some out. I highly recommend this cat litter!!!!
