Can entry door/flap be removed while leaving the cleaning flap intact?

Yes! My cat wouldn’t use the door, which can easily be removed while the hinged top flap with the filter remains intact and can still be flipped open for easy cleaning.

How does one lock the lid to the bottom when we have a liner in place? We cannot get the sliding lock mechanisms to go through the holes and lock if we're using a liner.

I had the same problem. I have to try multiple times to get each lock to lock into place but I finally get it to work. Thankfully I can scope the box by opening the top hatch and only have to take the whole top off when it's time to clean the litter box.

Does this work for high peeing cats or does the this allow the pee to get between the middle where the hood and bottom join?

The bottom pan itself measures approximately 9 inches, along the backside and gradually tapers down to 6 inches toward the front. The hood of the pan will fit securely over the bottom pan to keep messes inside.

Perfect size

While this box is pricier at $60, it is worth it. 18" wide, 22" long & 18" tall- gives my 20" long, 15" tall, 17 pound cat almost 2 more inches all around than

While this box is pricier at $60, it is worth it. 18" wide, 22" long & 18" tall- gives my 20" long, 15" tall, 17 pound cat almost 2 more inches all around than any other jumbo sized box I've seen. We have 3 cats and always have 3 jumbo boxes, and this replaced one of those and is now his favorite. Our cats don't like windows - and this one, though nice, comes un-installed and we just threw it away. A portion of the top flips open and allows for plenty of space to clean the litter (which we do twice daily) without needing to remove the whole lid. It is strong plastic, had no scent, and stays well secured. The handle ar the top is handy if you do need to transport it. As a large traditional shaoe and style litter box it is outstanding. Spend the money, it's worth it.

I clean the litter box three or more times a day, so the ease of lifting the lid to do so is very appreciated! It is very large(so make sure to check the dimensions to make sure it fits), but for me I have two cats and need it. The lid is sealed so they don’t throw litter all over and it will keep urine in when the cats are old and don’t have control. It is heavy if you dump the litter, but I clean it so often with clumping litter so I rarely have much litter left to dump. For me, having bought many litter boxes and even automatic ones. This has been the most useful box ever!

I was skeptical at first due to some of the reviews about the door? The door for the one I have received functions perfectly fine. Zero issues. I love how compact it is but wide enough at the same time because my cats are big backed lol! They seem to really enjoy it and I love the filter it comes with different then the spongy looking thing most come with this one is more like a charcoal pack of some sort with beads in it. Helps with odor a ton! I also like the pushing back of the top feature to easily add more litter and clean out when needed without unlocking the entire top part. My cats really seem to love it!

Catit Jumbo Hooded Cat Pan is total awesomeness!!! And huge!

For years, my cats used a large, tall storage container as a litter box because couldn't find anything large enough or tall enough. Then, I came across the Catit

For years, my cats used a large, tall storage container as a litter box because couldn't find anything large enough or tall enough. Then, I came across the Catit Jumbo Hooded Cat Pan. It's huge- 22.4" long by 18.3" wide. (that's the bottom part- that the cats do their business in). With the cover it's about 17" high. Height of bottom pan: Back of pan is 10" high, front is 7" high. I wondered how my cats would transition to a covered litter box with a door, so when the Catit arrived, I filled it with fresh litter and put it next to the box they were using. I checked it every hour and sure enough, the Catit was the only box they were using. Easy! Some of my cats never used to "cover" their poops but they've been covering them since using this box. Total coolness right there. I've seen reviews around talking about the "locking mechanism" on the box. I've enclosed photos to try and better explain. Love the sliding locks on the sides to secure the lid. And yes, there is a handle to carry it.... When I have to change the litter, I will use the handle to carry it outside and dump the litter in the trash. Then I can carry it back inside, detach the bottom from the lid, wash the bottom (pan) with warm water and rinse/dry and fill with litter again. (I know some people never actually wash their litter boxes- but I find that it keeps bacteria away- as well as odor build up- and also it's sanitary). The filter is cool. I was worried that perhaps my cats would notice it and try to shred it- but, they don't bother it. Will purchase some back up filters on Chewy. The bottom of the litter box is smooth and so easy to clean. Litter doesn't stick to it. I use the World's Best Cat Litter. No problems. I have a mat in front of the litter box to trap anything that might come out when the cats exit. Not much comes out and the little that does is caught in the mat. I then just put it back into the box. Will be purchasing a second box for another room in the house. Really a great, solid litter box. For the rest of the review, just look at the photos. Thanks, Chewy, for always having what we need!

We love this box. Bear kitty has stinky poo and this helps contain. It also reduces the Great Dane from poking his head in; it did not effectively deter the brother’s Lab. Don’t lift it by the handle with litter in it. The bag “hook” is genius! Filters are quite pricy. The kitty’s pee can get stuck in the lip between the box and lid (on the front corner where it’s lower) but it has never escaped. Easy to clean with Dawn Powerwash and shower sprayer.

I want to love this product. The size, odor control, and clever opening for scooping litter are all great. Unfortunately, there are two big issues. 1. The door does not swing freely. The plastic frame is warped which will not allow for the door to swing inwards or outwards without catching. My cats may be able to get in with a *strong* push but they definitely can’t get out. I jerry rigged my first one with packing tape which was fine. Ordered a second one with the hopes it was just a defective one-off but was disappointed to find out the second one had the same problem. I messaged customer support who immediately mailed out a replacement. Three boxes - all with the same defect. I’ve decided to just remove the doors and call it a day. 2. It’s hard to use liners with this box due to the locking mechanism. The brand sells special liners with holes to accommodate for the locks but they’re pretty awful liners. Not the worst issue to deal with but still annoying.

LOVE IT!

I never thought I'd grow up to be reviewing litter boxes online, but here we are. I love this litter box - it's huge, so my cat isn't deterred by any claustrophobic feelings I've noticed with other hooded boxes. And the way the flap folds up and over the box makes it easy to scoop, and it also helped me introduce a hooded box to this cat for the first time, allowing him to get used to the semi-enclosed space before committing fully. The bottom edges are rounded, making it really easy to scoop, and the handle is a nice touch (plus the latches make the lid really secure). But best of all, it has helped contain so much litter! My cat is an enthusiastic excavator, and what escapes this box is a fraction of what used to. And even scooping it is tidier, thanks to the lip that easily holds the bag open and prevents spills. It's a brilliant, user-friendly design and I'm very glad I purchased it.

Honestly, I don't completely agree with some of the negative reviews. I understand some of the concerns, however for me and my two cats this works great. 1. The bottom pan is perfect for scooping because it is more flat than rounded. 2. Really like the design of the front door -- you can either remove the flap or leave it on. Whatever your cat prefers. Mine like to stick their head out when they do their business so I easily removed the plastic door. 3. I really like the feature on top where the charcoal filter is -- you can easily lift it up when scooping out the litter pan. 4. The jumbo is a great size and my 18 lb cat can easily move around. 5. Got the gray one at an amazing price! If I could make a recommendation - it really helps if you use the right litter. I would highly recommend Smart Cat litter from chewy (Natural one). It works wonders in this pan and is much healthier for your fury loved one without chemicals. It scoops out easily and kitty does not track it all over your home. All in all -- I recommend this box.
