When did this product stop shipping to CA? I've been ordering this on autoship for years, my last order was last week of February, I order 3 at a time every 6 weeks, what happened?
Due to rats hypersensitivity to dust, I was wondering if this would be suitable for them. I know it says 99% dust free, but I'm sure after burrowing dust will be released. Is this the case?
Does the bedding have a distinct fresh scent? I read that guinea pigs can develop certain issues from the smell of scented bedding.
Is this good bedding for guinea pigs I heard pine shaves was the best so was wondering this be good ?

Please see my photo-this is an older photo (and I've changed her set up somewhat) but she still has an open cage and I use this bedding (with a sheet of newspaper underneath to reduce slipping and sliding if she hops into her "cage"). She roams freely in my home-but she has this open cage with this "bedding" she loves to dig and play in/den in- she has never gone to the bathroom in here-she uses her litter box. This stuff is great for her! She runs throughout my house but she does play in here lots and hauls some food in (I no longer have her food in the "cage") so for her I change it out 1x a month since she's a free roamer and home running bunny!

I have been using this pet bedding for my mice and rats for about 20 years. I have tried other bedding brands and they do not work as well as this does! I tend to keep quite a few rodents in the same cage so I’m cleaning it about once a week, but this does an excellent job with odor control and absorbing all of their various messes. I had one instance where one of my mice chewed a hole in their plastic water bottle. It leaked all over the cage. The bedding absorbed all of it and the bottom of the cage wasn’t even wet. I cannot recommend this product enough or give it enough praise! It really is low dust. I tried a different brand that was cheaper at one point and it had a lot of dust and my rats and I were all coughing and sneezing. I would never recommend Wood shavings as bedding because it can cause skin irritation and let’s be honest, no one wants to walk all over wood chips 24/7. My philosophy has always been: give your pets the life that you would want to live. If you wouldn’t want to live in a dirty or uncomfortable environment, don’t allow your pets to live that way. That’s why I’ve been using this bedding. There have been no irritations with any of my animals and they actually like to pile it up and sleep on it or under it. This product gets an A++++++++++++++++

I have two mice, Stormy and Cupcake. I was using Kaytee Clean & Cozy when the babies were in a smaller habitat. It smelled bad when they peed and pooped, and I upgraded their habitat to a bigger one. I bought Carefresh and opened the bag and washed the cage. It smelled old and musty. I thought used the bag and bought another because it was awesome and cheap. It is rough and mind of stinky but the mice like it. I think that since it is natural it has more of a stink. I'm going to change to a different bedding, still carefresh but not natural. It's good but smelly. I opened the lid of the bin (I have a bin cage) and wow! The bedding already has a noticeable musty smell but when it's dirty it smells so bad. Whew! I'm changing to a different one not natural.

When I receive the bedding there might be variations of the color, but that doesn't bother me. The only thing is that the bedding is not cheap. I'm thinking of using fleece because the price of it is so high, but for the pigs litter boxes it will still be carefresh.

I noticed a change in quality a few months ago. The bedding seemed lighter or had smaller pieces but didn't think anything of it. Then my husband started to point out that the rabbit's house (we have 2 rabbits) smells almost daily. Now I clean out their litter box area every other day, sometimes EVERY day & it will still smell & be totally soiled. Prior to this, he had never complained about their odor. Once I started reading other reviews, I realized I wasn't alone. Something changed here & it's not nearly as effective in absorbing & odor control. Going to try different brands of natural bedding.

Last time I purchased the Kaytee clean and cozy because people said they liked it better and it was cheaper but I personally prefer carefresh. In my opinion Carefresh is more absorbent than Kaytee therefore I can go longer without cleaning the cage. Although Carefreh natural does have a bit of smell when you first open the bag but it is a natural smell and doesn't last very long. Overall very happy and so is Muffin!!

Not sure if you wanna take the chance and waste your money on it. Chewy is normally very good about fixing issues but this obviously is not chewy‘s fault

With this bedding I get more than 3 times the bedding for only a couple more dollars than what I paid when I bought from Target, the odor control is amazing, and my 5 piggies love it. It's only a teeny bit dusty, so that's not much of a problem, but honestly 2 to 3 of the largest size will keep my cages clean for a month, maybe more!

Though, I noticed the texture of the bedding is a little different when I buy online than when I buy it from the PetStore, for it feels a little rougher, though this doesn't seem to really have an affect on my piggy.
