Can this be used for birds?

Carefresh is developed and manufactured specifically for certain small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice, chinchillas, hedgehogs, and ferrets). We recommend checking with your local vet first before using it for other species. As with any changes to your pet's care, if you do use it be sure to observe your pet closely for changes in behavior. Potential risk of impaction exists if your pet ingests a significant amount of any type of bedding. If you suspect impaction, discontinue use immediately and seek veterinary care.

I have 2 hamsters and 3 guinea pigs. For the hamsters, this product works AMAZINGLY! But for the piggies, it's okay. For the hamsters, the odor control lasts 2 or 3 weeks but for the pigs it was 2 days if were lucky. If you're buying this for hamsters or mice or something in that category, it's a great product but for the piggies, I'd say no. It is also highly priced so to have to change every day for the pigs,was expensive. so we switched to clean and cozy. While it has just bout the same odor control, you get so much more bedding for so much less of a price. Lastly, the bedding is not the pale blue in the picture, it is a beautiful vibrant blue. So for the hamsters, I mixed this and carefresh natural bedding to get a beach theme!

I don't know if it was just a bad bag, but it wasn't as vacuumed sealed as it usually is and there was a good but of space at the top of it, so I just felt like I didn't receive all of the product that I paid for. However, I still love the bedding- it was soft and very absorbent and on top of that had great odor control!

Received it, cleaned their cage, put this in and woke up to most of the bedding all over the floor. My boys didn’t like it. I think it was for two reasons. They’re big chunks. Too big for my little ones. And two it’s not soft. They kind of have a hard texture to them. Gave the fluff to my boyfriend niece who has a Syrian, Marshmallow. He loves the bedding. So for little fur ones don’t use this. But for the bigger fur ones, yes this will be suitable for them. If they like it of course. Lol

I have used aspen shavings, carefresh in the white and natural and I was in the store and decided to try the blue to brighten up and make my gerbils cage a little more fun, I was a little nervous, but I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with this bedding! It has even less dust than the white and is so super soft and my gerbil has had the best time making his tunnels and getting comfy! With saying that, he and I highly recommend this bedding and we definitely will be adding this to our auto ship!
