If you are currently administering a monthly flea infestation preventive and your pet still gets fleas, you may administer Capstar treatments daily, as needed, for quick relief against a flea infestation. Capstar may also be used with flea shampoos, as well as heartworm preventives, antibiotics, vaccines and de-worming medications.

can you cut the pill in half for smaller cats?

This treatment comes in tablet form and measures approximately 6 millimeter in diameter and 1 millimeter thick (see attached for reference). Good pill

This is the only medication I’ve used that I’ve seen actually kill fleas. I received this today, two days after ordering it; I love that Chewy is quick with shipping! I gave Ayla a pill after opening the package, fed her a treat and some food, then she laid down on the bed to take a nap. Thankfully my bedsheets aren’t black or else I wouldn’t have noticed, but when she got up there were dying fleas where she had been laying. Even after 3 hours I was still finding dying fleas or fleas fleeing from her fur onto my bedsheets. I do see there being some downside to using this as it won’t instantly kill all the fleas. They jump off of your pets body and could easily infest your home. I’ve dealt with a really bad flea infestation before, so I know I have to be around to kill the escaping fleas and get rid of them for good. I will give her another pill in two days and then give her a bath the day after the second pill. Capstar has been the only flea medication that has worked for me and is pretty affordable. I’ve given Bravecto by two different vets before and it did nothing. I recommend Capstar over Bravecto!

My cat is allergic to flea saliva and we've tried other treatments that he did not respond to. He was losing weight and had to be on antibiotics twice. Since starting the capstar treatment I started to see a change in his behavior almost immediately. Within a few days he was not scratching as much and he stared to gain weight within a week or two. He is back to his playful self now that the fleas are not overtaking his fur and skin.

Wow. Just... wow.

Almost a "miracle" product that actually does what it says! Excellent for fast relief, even if it's only temporary. Within minutes my cats were scratching and grooming

Almost a "miracle" product that actually does what it says! Excellent for fast relief, even if it's only temporary. Within minutes my cats were scratching and grooming excessively--they could feel the fleas becoming hyperactive due to the chemicals in their bloodstream attacking the fleas' nervous systems. Dead and struggling fleas started falling off within an hour. I swept my floors every day for weeks to try to get rid of eggs and flea dirt and never saw and dead fleas-only the occasional live one hopping for dear life. I swept the next day after giving my cats these pills and found over a dozen dead fleas in the dustpan. I could tell my kitties felt so much better and stopped scratching. It only works for the fleas ON your pet & only while it's still in their system, so if you have any other fleas, eggs, larvae, or pupae hanging around your home, a new infestation could occur. Keep up with regular cleaning and using other preventive flea treatments to keep them at bay.

We recently took in a stray outdoor cat and were dismayed to find that he was covered in fleas. Living in a really rural area, they’re extra abundant. After giving Mr. Pickles one capsule, all of the fleas immediately started dying! If you need a fast and affordable way to kill fleas that doesn’t involve going to the vet, Capstar is your answer! Just a side note, as the fleas are dying, your cat will start itching and scratching really badly but that’s normal and it will go away, it’s nothing to worry about. I recommend this to all my fellow “fur parents!”

I love capstar because it is an oral medication and you can purchase it without a prescription. It is very small in size and fits perfect in cat pill pockets for my outside feral cats that even though you cannot touch them I can still ensure their comfort and keep them flea free as best I can. I wish I could find the same kind of flea treatment but that would last all month from a one time monthly dose. I have a rescue feral cat colony of 16 cats and 9 rescue inside cats that because of injuries can never go back outside. All are spayed/neutered and I laugh because whether they are out or inside they all weigh over 12 pounds and healthy and the vet does not believe they live outside to be so healthy. I also feed home cooked real meats at home for them..

Half hour after getting the Capstar tabs into two lionheads and a Holland lop, dead fleas covered the pee pad in my lap. The bunnies had no bad reaction. The only problem was getting them to swallow the tabs and not spit them out... Not easy. Finally used a Popsicle stick with a crystallized raw honey ball on the end in which I pushed the small tab inside. Then carefully inserted in the side of their mouth and pushed in without hurting them. One took it easy. Even chewed it up. Another after a couple of times pushing back in with the stick swallowed it. The third it took ten minutes, more honey and alot of patience. So if you can get the small white tab in them, it works. It could be crushed in juice then given by syringe. These tabs are too expensive to be spit out and lose at $10 a pop but they do work well on buns. Also used on two Doodles... One 15 lbs and one 21 lbs. Worked okay on them but not quite as fast and complete. The problem is it kills the adult fleas fast but not the eggs and it only lasts 24 to 48 hours. So need to keep diligent and keep on using til every flea gone. Can take months. I added diatomaceous earth after giving them the Capstar tabs powdering them up with DE. This will kill new young fleas but the powdering needs to be done daily.

I'm not even joking, perfectly healthy before given the pill and he just completely went downhill from there, I don't even think he lasted a week after!!! I will not be buying this product again for even the animals it didn't affect other than by puking! The photo attached was him BEFORE the medication and the sores and bleeding gums is what I noticed after I gave him it

I lost 2 cats on Father's Day. I found out that they had a parasite that is fleaborne. A vet gave us this to save the other 3 babies. They required 2-3 doses each to catch all the fleas and hatched eggs, but it works. I literally witnessed the adult fleas falling dead from their coats within 30 minutes of taking it! We almost lost a 3rd cat, but this medicine and her resilience saved her life. I feel so guilty for not recognizing the changes in my pets sooner. I would still have 5 cats :( This medicine does not work on young fleas or eggs. A good bath and a flea comb will help out with that though.

CAPSTAR is an effective and fast-acting solution for tackling flea infestations. Designed for cats weighing between 2 to 25 pounds, this treatment begins to kill fleas within 30 minutes, providing quick relief for your furry friend. The small, easy-to-administer tablets are convenient and well-tolerated by most cats. With a 6-dose pack, it's perfect for ongoing flea control. However, it’s important to note that CAPSTAR only kills adult fleas and does not prevent future infestations, so it’s best used in conjunction with a comprehensive flea prevention strategy. A reliable choice for immediate flea relief!
