Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time.
- Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days.
- Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days.
- Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days.
- Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.

We have two female Rat Terriers, ages 3 and 8. The younger one, Jemma, is a very picky eater who also has a sensitive stomach at times. The older one, Emmy, will eat just about anything! We tried Cafe Nara Chicken Recipe Air Dried Dog Food, in the 16-oz bag, but we used it as a food topper and a treat rather than using it as their complete meal. Both dogs seemed to enjoy it. Jemma, the picky one, took a little time to try it, but once she did she liked it as much as Emmy. The food is in small, soft squares or rectangles that are flat and easy to pull apart into smaller pieces. This food does have a strong odor that was attractive to our dogs. It comes in a sealable bag. I appreciate that this food is minimally processed and that it is highly digestible. Jemma, the picky eater, does have a sensitive stomach at times so we are very careful with what we feed her and when trying a new food or treat, we introduce it gradually. She didn’t have any issues with this food, but we are only using it as a meal topper or treat so we are mixing it with her regular food. For us, this would be rather expensive to use as their main food, especially having two dogs a 16 oz bag would not last long.

They are a great texture and perfect size to hide in a foraging toy. They are also good for to-go treats since they don’t break easily nor crumble. I highly recommend!
