Our cat, Chunk of Love, is 13 years old and we used to give him Revolution for fleas, ticks, etc., but he started to get very agitated after his last couple doses, compulsively licking his fur in various places as if chasing a flea hopping around on his body! Poor guy's nerves were shot from Revolution, so I asked a Vet on the Chewy website what other flea med would not cause this reaction and she suggested Bravecto. That Vet knew her stuff cuz Chunky Monkey Man has been doing very well with it for the past nearly 2 years! I like that it treats worms/parasites too. The dose is given every 12 weeks, instead of monthly, which is even better. My only gripe is the darn tube the medicine comes in - the instructions say to wear rubber gloves to open and apply it, but the screw cap has never come off without some of the medicine leaking on my gloves, so now I just ignore the cap and snip off the corner of the tube, (opposite end from the cap,) and that allows all the medicine to be applied without spilling. Bravecto really should fix that disfunctional cap though!

Once Every 2 Months is Better

My cat told a pet psychic that he hates getting his flea & tick medication. It broke my heart to hear that, but have to protect the little guy! The next time I put it on him (different brand, NG are the initials of that one...) it was so oily and such a large amount of product, that he managed to reach his neck and spread it into his eye! It was so scary and awful. I asked the vet what we could do as a better solution. Unfortunately, they do not sell oral flea & tick for cats (that we know of), but this switch was the next best thing. It is a small amount, and only administered once every two months, which is better than every month. I do get a little nervous since my guy is 16 lbs, so on the smaller end of this dosage range, but so far, he has not had any adverse reactions, and has managed to not spread it to his eyes!

Simple to Use, Minimal Scent: READ INSTRUCTIONS

This product is simple to use if one opens the provided pamphlet, reads it, and follows the instructions prior to attempting to open the medicine tube and administer the product. I did not do that at first, so I spilled a small amount of product and scared my feline away thus complicating the administration process. Reading and following the instructions will prevent this from occuring. Haha. The medicine tube is small like the top half of a petite woman’s pinky finger. The liquid product within has a minimal scent trail to my keen, human sense of smell. The minimal scent seems to be more tolerable to my feline, who undoubtedly smells it more strongly than I do, than other brands. The liquid volume of this product is smaller than many non-prescription competitors I’ve used before. The smaller liquid volume makes administration quicker, less noticable to my feline, and less messy if instructions are followed. My felis catus appears to have adjusted well to this medication with no negative side effects except for minor behavioral ones, i.e. hiding post-administration due to the discomfort of having a mysterious, weird-smelling liquid squirted at the base of his neck. Overall, 9/10. Thanks, Bravecto.

This really kills all the fleas and their life cycle.

It's worth every penny to be flea free. For years I only used seresto collars on my cats and dogs, but they recently changed the ingredients or changed the strength of the ingredients. So they no longer kill the fleas. Now the fleas just live on the cats tails instead of their entire body. So that's why I had to switch to bravecto. It took a while to kill them all but it did the job. My dog still has a seresto collar and his works so I think it's just the cat collars that are not working anymore.

I'm trusting that my vet knows what she's talking about when she says that Western Mass is now home to a lot more cat pests and Bravecto's good for my cats. Jury's out. I love that it comes as a 2-month supply, however. Look out for "how to open" instructions.

This stuff burned my cat 2x. I've done this now 4 times. The first one was in the winter 2023, the second in the spring 2023...and seemed fine. But then the summer and fall doses caused pain for him. I thought that maybe the summer heat could've have reacted to it, but when it happened in the cool fall weather again, I knew this was just too risky. I do not recommend it. Poor little guy. We are now calling him "patches" while his fur grows back. When I realized it was hurting him, I spent days with a cool wet cloth to get the stuff off his fur and then needed to apply Neosporin to help heal the burn spots. They healed, but he's still itching no thanks to Bravecto. Do not recommend.

I cannot assess how this medicine works as a preventative. I believe that it was tested well enough to proof that it's effective. But the fact that a small amount of it that got on my skin resulted in blisters, gives me a pause. And yes I had my gloves ready, just decided to open the vile first and then put the gloves on, a mistake obviously. So, now I wonder if Bravecto might be too potent, since it has to last for 2 months and thinking about switching to Revolution plus instead.

We have been using BRAVECTO since it first came out and very happy with it. We have a lot of cats. We switched to the BRAVECTO plus recently As it prevents hookworms. Two of my cats have had to hook worms before I started using this. Hopefully, that won’t be an issue again.. we have a lot of cats between two households and have never ever had a problem with this brand.

The item is fine. Recommended and prescribed by the vet. However, trying to save a few bucks by ordering it from Chewy was something of a pain. I do not have a camera....had to find a fax machine to get the vet's prescription relayed to Chewy. Ordering non prescription materials from Chewy goes easily. This was time consuming and not handy.
