Boxiecat Extra Strength Odor Control Clumping Clay Cat & Kitty Litter, 16-lb bag

I used the Boxiecst extra strength for the last couple of years. It was expensive, but it worked. It clumped well, on the surface and did great job with odor control. The litter that was tracked outside the box was large enough pick up and soft. A couple months ago our delivery brought a new litter in the old packaging. I thought it would have the same qualities as the gray litter. I was very wrong. The new litter is fine sand that tracks everywhere and just like beach sand is very hard to get all of it. The clumping on the surface is gone. This new litter does a good job at drying the poop, but the clumping for wet stuff is terrible. The pee pools at the bottom of the litterbox and the clumping is weak and when you try to scrape the box it breaks apart in pieces that fall through the scoop grill. The odor control is also gone. My litterbox that gets cleaned twice a day stinks up the entire laundry room, and hallway, where with the gray litter I could scoop once a day and you wouldn't know it was there. It should be illegal for a company to change its product to such a degree that it's a new, inferior product and still take advantage of the brand and premium price of the old product. The sand colored Boxiecat is not worth it. I'll need to find a new cat litter.

This cat litter is all that it advertises in the name! My favorite part is the low dust and scent-free feature. I can have the litter box in the same room as me, without worrying about the dust and the smell. If the cat is actively going to the bathroom, then yes you will smell the poo, but only until the cat covers it up. The part I don’t like about the product is the bag the litter comes in. The bag does have a handle on the side to help pour it, but it felt like it would break while using it. Also, there is a sticker to close the bag, that works as expected. Another great thing about this litter is that it doesn't get tracked around the house. The clumps are great, especially with urine. I think my cat approves because he laid in the litter box as soon as I added this litter for the first time,lol.

I’ve only used one kind of cat litter for my cats. So, I was a bit skeptical to try something new. I can say there is zero smell after the cats have used their box. The litter also clumps well around the urine and feces. The litter also doesn’t stick to their feet as much!!! My only complaint is it’s much heavier than the usual litter I purchase. That makes it more difficult for me to scoop and move the litter around the box.

I love this litter for order control and clumping but it tracks everywhere!! After using it for a few months I have to change litter brands. I have never had my cats track litter through my house like this stuff does. Thanks to this litter I can see every place my cats have walked or laid in my house because some of the litter is left behind when they leave. On couches, on beds, on tables (that they shouldn’t be on). I’m so tired of sweeping it up every time they step out of the litter box because there’s a big trail. If they ever fix the tracking problem I’d try it again but I can’t stand it any longer.
