Annabelle is a 3-year-old, rescue poodle who demonstrates digestive problems. Eventually, we found food (purchased through Chewy) that worked best for her needs. As a result, I was concerned to try this product but decided to see what fresh food could offer. I substituted 1/3 of each daily serving with the Blue Buffalo and Annabelle could not get to the bowl fast enough. In addition to loving it, she did not experience any digestive issues. Because Annabelle is only 10 pounds, and her food intake is low, using the entire bag within a week was impossible to do. My suggestion is to only defrost the amount your dog would use in the time frame recommended to avoid spoilage.

They were even trying to sneak bites from each other’s bowl because they liked it so much. I also like the ingredients — it starts with real chicken and includes wholesome things like brown rice, carrots, peas, flaxseed, and even blueberries and cranberries, which makes me feel good about what I’m feeding them. It seems like a really balanced recipe with added vitamins and nutrients. The packaging was excellent — the food arrived well-packed in dry ice and stayed properly frozen with no mess or leaks. That gave me confidence the product was shipped safely and stayed fresh. Another thing I noticed is how well my dogs handled it—no upset stomachs and they cleaned their bowls every time. That’s always a win in my house. If your dogs are picky eaters or you want something with quality ingredients that they’ll actually be excited about, this one is definitely worth trying. Mine clearly approve!

I followed the instructions where you thaw them overnight and put them in your refrigerator. The shelf life is 7 days once thawed. I served them to my three dogs two springer spaniels and one Manchester . They absolutely loved them. the meatballs smell like real food. They enjoyed them and I would recommend them to anyone looking at a fresh food option.

It makes it easy to portion out what we give her each day. They are the perfect size for either a meal topper or just as the occasional snack, and she really enjoys them. The extra vitamins and minerals are another plus so we can make sure she’s getting everything she needs each day. The only thing that is a bit of a pain is having to thaw a bag before use. It’s really very minor with the amount in the bag. We use ours as a meal topper/ treats so one bag goes quite far! Definitely would still buy this in the future.

I’ve been hesitant to sway from top end canned dod food for my 2 Chi’s. After shopping and exploring options, I decided to give this a try. It’s very impressive! The meatballs have an appetizing smell and appearance- there is No mess - because they are easy to pour . The zip closing freezer bags are easy to store and very convenient. They came lovingly packed in dry ice on my doorstep . Most of all, my dogs go crazy over the meatballs! They actually dance when I get the bag out ! There were no loose stools when I switched over, and they actually eat slower- chewing each meatball. The ingredient list is healthy and wholesome- Honestly, No complaints here- I definitely will continue this as their main food source.

My new dog Pearl is a mini Bernedoodle and she adjusted quickly to this food; it's easy to serve, she eats it eagerly, and her stools are just right. The food ingredients are excellent (chicken is the first ingredient). It comes frozen in easily recyclable packing materials so I will always have some on hand and I know it is fresh. After thawing overnight in the refrigerator, the food is ready to serve. Highly recommend this product!

It works beautifully for positive reinforcement too—he’ll do just about anything when he knows these meatballs are coming. The moment I take the bag out of the fridge, Oscar lights up. This is not Belle's normal food, so I decided to try cutting back the amount of her normal food and using this as a supplement or topper. She does love it and gets excited when she sees me get the bag out of the refrigerator. You can see the veggies in the little chicken meatballs. I did notice that on the first day I fed this to her that her tummy was a little off. I backed off on the amount for a couple of days, and now have worked up to almost a 50/50 mix of this along with her normal food. I like the fact that chicken is the first ingredient, not "chicken meal" or "chicken protein". One negative I feel about ordering this on a regular basis is that it has to be shipped with dry ice to keep it cold. If there were an issue with delayed shipping and all the dry ice melted, you would have to throw it out. Also creates a lot of extra shipping waste. Speaking of shipping issues, in the shipment I received, one of the bags was ripped open, so I threw it away. That was not a good first impression.
