I have three poodles. One toy, on miniature and one miniature mixed. They each have a different opinion about this beef dog food. Let me say first of all how convenient it is. Just defrost in your fridge and scoop the soft little meatballs on to the plate. They have a pleasant just-cooked hamburger scent when defrosted. They are very appealing. They are dry enough to go in to a snuffle mat but still soft. Dog #1 Loved them from first whiff. She actually begged for them when time came for the second feeding. Dog #2 wasn’t so sure, but after gently heating the little meatballs she dug right in. They are dry enough to feed one by one yet soft enough to be easily chewable. Dog #2 liked me feeding them to her one at a time. Dog#3 is the very picky eater. If we heated them and crumbled them he would eat them…but only as a topper. A real plus is that these were easily digested and didn’t give any of the pups loose stools or stomach upset. I would definitely consider these if we wanted to switch things up. We chose the beef. I look forward to trying the chicken. So yes, I would recommend them.

I found the Blue Buffalo Love Made Fresh Fully Cooked Natural Beef Meatballs packaging very easy to open and to reseal with the Velcro. You can take out just what you need and keep the rest of the bag frozen. The meatballs were perfect size for both my dogs. I used them as toppers on top of their everyday food. I liked the fact you could see the bits of carrots in them. The meatballs didn’t crumble when defrosted.

Made with real beef and wholesome ingredients, it looks like real food and is a hit with picky eaters. It’s easy to serve and works well as a full meal or topper, though the texture can be a bit dense and the price is higher than standard dog food. I use it as training treats for my dogs.

My dog really seems to like this food and the packaging is super convenient. However, my Westie has had multiple instances of getting an upset stomach and then vomiting after eating this food. He has had this same problem with other types of food with the same brand name, so not sure if he just has a sensitive stomach or this brand just doesn’t agree with him. It’s too bad because I really like how easy it is to sprinkle some of the food in a bowl to give to him and how it’s a nice alternative to dry kibble.
