My 10 year old Yorkie loves Blue Buffalo Life Protection formula. Blue Buffalo Life Protection formula is a perfect size kibble for a ten pound dog. She also loves the taste and gets very excited when it is time to eat. I like the Blue Buffalo Life Protection formula for the extra nutrients that it gives her being that she is a senior dog. The flavor of the Blue Buffalo Life Protection formula is Lamb and Brown Rice, which she loves lamb. I believe that it is important for older dogs to have specific nutrients and antioxidants in their diet so they can continue to thrive and be healthy. Blue Buffalo Life Protection Formula provides hip and joint, immune, balanced protein and carbohydrates, and omega three fatty acids to help protect my senior dog. She has not had any problems tolerating the food, which is comforting because she has a very sensitive stomach. She has been less itchy now that she’s been on the Blue Buffalo life protection food. This is a very palatable kibble, according to my two pugs. It has a nice smell and different shapes for interest. The kibble is just the right size for a small dog. My female pug normally needs her dog food soaked because of her teeth, but she was able to eat the small kibble in the Blue Buffalo food without soaking. I did put some to soak and it kept color and shape, which is often not the case with other brands. My pugs give it a 10!

My older pups are really loving this new food. The food has 2 different size nuggets. They go crazy over the smell, which I guess is lamb and fish. Love the extra fiber, so they poop when they need to instead of stinking up the house with their farts. And with this food, I don't have to give them an additional joint supplement since it contains glucosamine and condroitin.

I really wanted to like Blue Buffalo Life Protection Lamb for dogs seven years and older. The ingredients and overall quality seemed promising, and one of my senior dogs did great on it. She enjoyed the taste and had absolutely no issues at all. Unfortunately, my other senior didn’t tolerate it well. She experienced significant gastric upset, including diarrhea, which made it clear that this formula just isn’t the right fit for her. With a household of five dogs, I really need a food that works consistently for everyone, and the mixed reactions make it hard to stick with this one. I think it could be a good option for some dogs, but based on my experience, it may not agree with every sensitive senior stomach.
