No, only by the amount you tighten the Velcro, which effects the overall fit (around their armpit area & chest).

How do I measure?

Always measure your pet's chest and neck and refer to the sizing chart for the best fit. Measure around the chest, right behind the front legs. Then measure around the base of the neck.

Exactly what I was looking for

My Chico has on a size M harness. His chest is 18". His neck is 12". He weighs 16 lbs. I read all the reviews and comments. I measured him three times. I don't know

My Chico has on a size M harness. His chest is 18". His neck is 12". He weighs 16 lbs. I read all the reviews and comments. I measured him three times. I don't know why anyone would have problem with not getting the correct size. This harness is exactly what I was looking for. I put in on the floor and he steps in. The Velcro snugs him perfectly. The plastic buckle is stiff, but I squeezed it a few times with a pliers to loosen it up so it wouldn't be so hard on my fingers. His leash goes on nicely and he walks great with me. No choking around the neck. No straps that all have to be adjusted. It is soft and lightweight, and he seems really comfortable in it. Nothing is binding or digging into his body. If he could talk, he would say "I like it!" I like it too.

Perfect for size and handling

First off, anything I've ever bought from chewy has always been beautifully put together for my dogs.. The Voyager Step in Harness, I bought for my puppy Pita... He's close to outgrowing it already, and I'll end up right back at chewy for the next growth faze. I leave it on him from when the first walk in morning, till the last walk I take with my dogs at night it stays on him all day with no irritation, then it's off till the next morning. Easy to put on, strong Velcro, and buckle, it's breathable, and easy to put on him.. I purchased blue for him, and I just bought the red one and leash for my friends who just got a new puppy! They love it also.. All of my supplies for my older dog, Clancy, and the Puppy come from chewy, from food, to Toys, to pee pads, ... Love you this company and product!

Not a good choice for a cat. (Duh)

I was looking for a better harness for my adult cat and decided to buy this one (I shouldn’t have considering this harness was not made for cats). It’s okay, he can walk perfectly fine in it, and it fits him well enough. But, the shape of the harness is definitely not for a cat. The shape of the arm holes aren’t ideal and they gap at the top around his shoulder. Also, when measuring neck measurement, make sure you measure from the front of their neck around to their shoulder blades. While I’m keeping this harness to use for my cat because it’s not uncomfortable for him and he can’t escape out of it, I do NOT recommend it for cats. Buy one specifically designed for cats.

This is such a great harness! This is my second one, the first one is still perfectly good, just wanted another color. It’s so easy to get on, just lay it flat and she walks right in, then just lift up and clip! Fits her decently well, 13 lb chiweenie with 16” round chest and small neck, size medium. It would slip off if you were to pull on her too hard from the front, or if she pulled back very hard but that is not an issue for us. Gone on all kinds of walks and trails and she’s well controlled and comfortable.

This is the best for my Maltipoo

I have to say, I complained about the first one I got, And Chewy did return my money, but I feel really bad, as I had said it's just not the same as the other one

I have to say, I complained about the first one I got, And Chewy did return my money, but I feel really bad, as I had said it's just not the same as the other one etc etc, It was because she was too small, it ended up being the best harness ever, so I ordered another one, as the last one is getting worn out. I'm not sure about big dogs, but for my little Maltipoo a size small fits her wonderful. I like the step in feature, and the velcro, she's very comfortable in it. And I've tried a few different ones, really high $$ ones, and this is the best for her and for me. she's probably about 7 pounds now, you can see by the pic, if you have a dog about her size, it's a size small and perfect.

Absolutely love Voyager harnesses, and our 1 year old pup recently grew out of his two XS harnesses we had previously. I got this as a replacement (size S) and it fits him perfectly, he's around 15 lbs. Super lightweight for summer and easy to clean. We met another dachshund on the street yesterday wearing the same exact one - couldn't tell them apart!

This harness has two major benefits that work for Nico (terrier mix): 1) the fit. His last harness had straps as opposed to this Voyager harness that I’d say is more of a vest. The straps would bunch up under his little arms and rub/ irritate his skin. This vest stays in place/ doesn’t bunch up at all. 2) the function. This harness is easy for Nico to step into and easy for me to secure on his bag. Faster = better for all involved. His previous harness buckled under his chest which was difficult when he’s excited to explore. Highly recommend this harness for its comfort and ease.
