Benebones are made to size in regard to your dog's weight. If you feel like your dog is a super chewer or their mouth suits a larger fit, sizing up is fine. Strength and durability are consistent through each of the sizes and shapes.

Way too thin, dangerous even for small dogs

While I have tons of other nylon chews from Benebone, Nylabone, Tikaton and other brands for my crazy-chewing pittie mix (and she loves chewing Benebones especially)

While I have tons of other nylon chews from Benebone, Nylabone, Tikaton and other brands for my crazy-chewing pittie mix (and she loves chewing Benebones especially) this one is a massive safety hazard. It is WAY too thin, just asking for a dog to bite down and break their teeth on it. Even the large size is barely a half inch thick on the "tail" and the "head" is tapered to a point along the edge. Even the rounded "ribs" of the large Fishbone are smaller in diameter than the medium Zaggler. Do not buy this toy. Get the Zaggler or Wishbone instead.

So far I've bought three of these for my pyr mix because it remains her favorite chew! For whatever reason she's never liked Nylabones and she has to have something to chomp on, so I figured I'd try one of these (because the shape is cute) and I haven't regretted it. The nylon does get sharp once it's all chewed up, but that means it's time to replace anyway. There's no fishy smell and she happily trots around the house with her fish bone, choosing it over her other hard chews almost every time.

But this one has been their absolute favorite. The other bones are great for the first week and then they lose interest. This bone has been their first choice for weeks still. My little Pomchi loves this fish! I wasn’t expecting much out of this fish bone. My dog destroys every toy within 10 minutes. The toys he cannot destroy he loses interest in. Buster has a great love for this chewing fish. He spend hours gnawing on it’s interestingly angled bones. He carries it from room to room. He has even taken it with him on his potty breaks outside. First things first, as a *chew toy*, this thing is amazing! Our GSD mix pup LOVES it and will choose this Fishbone Dog Chew Toy over other toys almost every time! I would have given this 5 stars -- but I think the manufacturer and Chewy need to do a better job of making it explicit and obvious in the description etc. that this is *NOT* edible and is made of nylon. To their credit, they have disclosed this information in the Q&A and in the product details - which many of us do read - but sometimes, unless something is bold and big, it doesn't register obviously. So there is no misrepresentation of facts going on here -- just that I wish they would make that fact almost in-your-face explicit so people like me who might forget a thing or two or may gloss over that very important detail because it's buried in text, would know to make a mental note to remove this toy if it starts to break into little tiny pieces because of a rambunctious teeth GSD mix who will chew through anything if we let her. Would definitely buy again now that I've had to discard our earlier one after it's finally breaking apart after 2 months of solid chewing.

If you make a chew toy why would you make it non edible just in the case your dog is a hard chewer you don’t have to worry about them eating bits of it. I have three dogs a husky, German shepherd and a pit bull who much on these things and they broke it easily. And if I hand my dog a toy isn’t the point of it to play and bite it not replace it every time it breaks off a little and worry about them consuming it. And if you make a toy salmon flavored or peanut butter flavored it’s more then likely bound to happen
