BellyGuard Recovery Suit Post-Surgery Dog Onesie, Blue, Medium

My dog had a cyst removed and the incision was 8 inches long. There is no way I could expect him to wear a cone for 2-4 weeks. The Bellygaurd is made of a light weight fabric and the snaps offer two sizing options for length. When it is potty time, just unsnap the back, roll up the shirt to the mid section. There is a snap on the back that connects to a snap at the chest to hold it up while doing their business. As other reviews have said, the neck is snug, but I can put 2 fingers there and he is fine with it. If I felt like I needed to snip the collar for extra room, I would. It wouldn't change my satisfaction with the shirt. Per reviews, I bought it in 2 colors. I'm glad, because I forgot to unsnap when he went to the restroom and I had another to replace.

This shirt was really nice quality, very easy to open for potty breaks. It seemed to keep her from noticing her incision, and was much easier than a cone. There were 2-3 days when the healing process was super itchy. Those couple of days she needed antihistamines and extra supervision to keep her from biting herself through the shirt, so I would definitely say don't trust it 100%. It did make two weeka of recovery much easier though! Large was perfect for my German shepherd girl. XL was much, much bigger and seemed like it would comfortably fit giant breeds. We kept both so we could alternate washing one each day. (Photo shows XL)

Unlike others I had tried, this onesie stayed in place and did not stretch. My Cavalier has a long torso, which is normal shape for a cavi and it fit her great after her spay surgery. It offers complete belly and whole body coverage, but allows plenty of room so not to interfere with the wound area. I did however make a couple small cuts along the neck line band, it seemed too snug for comfort. The snaps on the back side are adjustable for a good fit if one needs another inch of length. Highly recommend this onsie and it washed so nicely without shrinkage. Ten stars!!!

Love these, I just wish the size and colors were more accurate. I got an xxl first and it was big on her but since she was growing thought no problem... until she chewed through one side of the flap to get at the diaper overnight, when she went into heat before we could get her spayed. Got another in the xl before her surgery. Got it on her but just. Since she's still growing and has to wear it for a couple weeks I got another xxl but in what I thought was the teal. Came in today... it fits length wise and around her shoulders and neck better but has room for growth. However the color is more baby blue than the teal in the picture online and the packaging. She is @ 90-95 pounds and almost 1 yr old Great Dane. She was @ 80lbs when I bought the first xxl that got destroyed. Thank goodness I order enough to get the gift card twice now and it covered two of them. My Malinois mix has the 4th one size l @ 47lbs.
