How do you know what size to order?

To choose the correct size, measure your dog's back length (from the base of the neck to the base of the tail) and chest circumference (around the body, behind the front legs) and compare with the size chart. Approximate weight can vary based on breed. We recommend using a fabric measuring tape if you have one, which is easiest to get an accurate measurement. If your dog is between sizes, we recommend opting for the bigger. You don’t want your BellyGuard to be too snug on a healing incision or on irritated skin. Plus, two layers of snaps make for an adjustable, customizable fit.

Do you have to pull the tail through a hole like some diapers, or does it just snap on each side of the tail?
