Got this for my big guy for Christmas. The destroyed it but loved it. I threw away any pieces he broke off. I must have missed one. Just got him home from an obstruction removal surgery and over $8000 later. He may still need to go back to the hospital. A piece of this toy was lodged in his intestines, creating a hole. He had to have 3”-4” of his intestine removed. Not for a super chewer!

The Bark Super Chewer Hare Raiser has been a huge hit with my 75-pound Pit Bull/Lab mix, Rex. He is an extremely aggressive chewer and can usually destroy a stuffed toy in less than 10 minutes, so I wasn’t expecting this one to last long. To my surprise, we’re on day three and the outer layer is still completely intact. Rex already has another Bark toy made from the same durable rubber material that has lasted for months, and somehow he seems to love the Hare Raiser even more. He especially enjoys the tough chew texture and the squeaker. I can barely make the squeaker work with both hands, but Rex has no problem activating it with his jaws, which keeps him entertained for hours. Another thing we love is how unpredictably it bounces. It shoots off in random directions, making fetch more exciting and helping him burn off extra energy. The only small downside was that it had a bit of an odd smell when we first opened it. Thankfully, Rex didn’t seem to notice or care, and the smell faded over time. For a dog that normally destroys toys almost immediately, this one has been incredibly impressive. Based on our experience so far, it’s an easy 5 out of 5 stars.

I had very high hopes for this toy based on the reviews. My Super Chewer Rhodesian Ridgeback removed the ears from this toy (similar material to a Kong) completely within 10 minutes of presenting it. He still loves playing with the earless toy. It’s been about a day now, so we’ll see what happens. For true super chewers, this definitely is not indestructible.

I thought this would be great for our pup who loves to tear open her stuffed toys at the seams. They always last a day and then we are picking up fluff non-stop. So I thought, great, she can rip this one at the seams and be rewarded with a new hard toy that stands up to her teeth. Instead, she demolished the ears completely in about an hour and ended up throwing up after chewing them to tiny bits. So clearly the toy inside is not actually sufficient for a "super chewer."

Within minutes, the furry skin was chewed and discarded. The next day, the tip of the ear was chewed off. I had high hopes for this "super chewer" toy. I got 4 toys in a "buy 3 get the 4th free" promo. So far, 2 have failed. Chewy said they wouldn't do anything about the first one to fail because it was the "free" one. I may give up and go to a subscription service with as much as I'm wasting here. Any recommendations?
