About Badlands Ranch

Superfood Bites

These delicious treats have zero fillers, preservatives, or poor-quality byproducts, so your dog gets nothing but a completely natural superfood snack that’s as yummy as it is healthy. That way, you're supporting your pup’s healthy muscles, soft coat, and body weight—all while reminding him what a good dog he is.

Superfood Complete

Superfood Complete is a carefully crafted dog food formulated with responsibly raised animal protein, salmon, gut-healthy vegetables, and Katherine’s favorite superfoods. The nutritious ingredients in Superfood Complete are prepared using a “low and slow” cooking method to help avoid harmful byproducts that can result from high-heat cooking.

Why Air-Dried?

Badlands Ranch uses a slow-cooking and air-drying method to ensure maximum freshness and nutritional content. It helps preserve the good stuff your dog needs to thrive while eliminating the bad. High-heat cooking can add unhealthy byproducts to your dog’s food, potentially leading to joint, energy, and digestion issues over time. Superfood Complete is air-dried to combine the convenience of kibble with the health benefits of whole foods.

Superfood Complete: Air-Dried Goodness

Superfood Complete contains some of the healthiest foods on Earth—beef, nutrient-dense organ meat, salmon, and gut-healthy vegetables. And, of course, a variety of superfoods, chosen to help support your dog’s smooth digestion and overall health. All these ingredients are cooked responsibly at low temperatures and air-dried for maximum nutrition. Superfood Complete contains no fillers or artificial preservatives—just all the good stuff your dog needs to thrive!

What is a Superfood?

A superfood is a nutrient-rich food that provides a lot of nutritional bang for your buck, so to speak. Superfoods contain high amounts of one or more nutrients that support vibrant good health, such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber.

Is kibble small enough for a small Yorkie 7lb to easily eat ?

Answer by AnnMar 15, 2024
I have a 9-pound Cavachon and I have to break it in small pieces with my fingers. It takes a long time but it's worth it. She is on the chicken and loves it. I use it as a topper 1/2 oz twice a day plus chicken that I cook myself 2oz twice a day. I had to this Bernie's Perfect Poop and 1 oz of my own chicken broth to her meals. She is full of energy for an 11 YO female. Couldn't be happier.

Does this meet AAFCO standards?

Answer by ChewyMar 04, 2024
This recipe was formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for adult maintenance.

I've never written a review ever, but my Milo is loving this food so much that I feel like I have to do one. I adopted Milo last July and he has been quite the picky eater. Very choosy about food and snacks. Although, he will eat random fuzz from the floor and try to eat acorns. It's a mystery. I've tried several other high quality brands, but this is the first brand where Milo will eat it immediately. Thank you, Chewy, for carrying Badlands Ranch dog food, from me and Milo!

This product hit all of the marks we strive for with healthy food for our two dogs, who both greatly enjoyed it as a topper on their kibble and both showed enhanced energy after eating it each day. You would think SuperFood Complete is made of treats. Both of our 20-25 pups love it and can't get enough. The food looks very unprocessed yet dense and full of quality natural ingredients and vitamins. It feels great to give our pups this premium food to enhance their health and well being from head to toe. In fact, we are now planning to include this fully as part of one of their daily meals every day.

I have been buying Badlands for a while but in the beef, my dogs seemed to really love those but I thought I'd try the chicken. They love those too. I used them for a topper but at this price, I have to stop using as topper. We will use them as treats. Katherine Hiegle should not be making so much money on dog food. Yes, I think it is good food, healthy food, and I'm sure it took a long time for her to make from scratch for her dogs but there's no need to have such outrageously high costs to the public. It's so sad that all the good, clean, foods are ridiculous in price, I just wish she did not take this direction as well. Plus, there's always a lot of worthless dust in the bottom of the bags. This large amount of dust equals a loss of money to consumers. Come on, Katherine Hiegle do the right thing, get your people (team) on the right track and think of lowering the cost to your loyal customers and viewers of your movies. You, as an actress, I love, but to charge this much for your dog food when everyone is trying to get by in this day and time and we love having dogs in our lives and we would love to be able to afford healthy dog food for them. I would not recommend this as a food source unless you can afford it but not to anyone who can't afford it but maybe buy and use it for treats because it does have fantastic ingredients in it, like Organ Meats, etc. So, yes and no to recommend, I don't know what to answer.

Although we’ve only had this new food for a couple of days I can see that my dog is extremely excited about it. It almost is like treats but served as dog food and probably healthier. My dog ate it with enthusiasm and was protective of it more than she does with her regular food. My cat was also extremely interested. For reference my dog is 15 pounds and the pieces seemed to be a reasonable size for her to eat. Although pricey, it could be really yummy topper at a minimum.

This Bedlands Ranch food is amazing! All 6 of my dogs absolutely loved it. Even my more picky eaters. We were able to utilize as treats for training as well! The pieces were small enough to still be used as a treat but large enough to be of substance. Added to this, the ingredients are amazing! I love that they are traceable and that there aren't any fillers.

2/3 dogs love this food and they patiently wait for it every morning. Have multiple pets so using as a topper because although I do love tye product, the cost is definitely an issue. My super fussy dog won’t touch it, but no surprise there. I was extremely skeptical, but the two eating it have more energy for sure. We’ll see if their coats are better as they begin their winter sheds. I will keep buying it for as long as I can, but wish the cost would go down.

I seriously tried at least ten different brands of food for my big girl and she just wouldn’t eat any of them after only a few weeks of trying. I started making homemade food for her, and though she was mostly happy with that, I just found it difficult to keep up with that program. I ran across a very detailed advertisement about Badlands Ranch Superfood late one night and decided I may as well try it, too. Three years later she still loves it! Beef, chicken, lamb are all her favorites.

Daisy is 9 years old and a picky eater. I tried a few different senior foods for her and she didn’t like them. But when I got this Badlands Ranch food she absolutely loves it! Which is most important. But also it’s made with wonderful and healthy ingredients and nutrients. I’ve noticed her fur is healthier and her stomach never gets upset with this food. She’s very happy with it so I am also very happy. We definitely recommend this food.

i've been giving this to my 10-pound dog for 1+ year. She is super picky. I first started with beef but she did not like the smell of the beef liver. Since she's been on the chicken, she devours it completely. I use it as a topper since it's so pricey. I feed her some cooked chicken with my own chicken broth, 4 oz of cooked chicken a day and 2 oz of kibbles a day. I pour about 2 oz of my own chicken broth over each meal. She is very energetic for her age and loves her food. I also give her 2 tsp of Bernie's Perfect Poop twice a day. Her poop is no longer loos. I think this is the best food on the market. I give her nothing but the best.

This is the only kibble so far that Me. Fussy aka Cooper the Labradoodle will actually eat. Hopefully it’s made like the ad says it is with all the great ingredients it says it has and he’ll live a long and healthy life. It’s pricey but all dog food is anymore. He gets a little fresh chicken and some of the Badlands kibble and eats it. Since I’ve struggled with kibble of various kinds and tried the Farmers Dog without success I’m just happy to see him actually eat something.
