What kind of food do finches eat?

In the wild, finches eat a variety of seeds along with fruits and vegetation. In captivity, they also eat seed blends or, if possible, pellets. Some keepers include certain fruits and vegetables to provide a more balanced diet.

Do finches prefer thistle or Nyjer seed?

While thistle and Nyjer seeds are often thought to be the same, they come from different plants. Finches like both but seem to prefer Nyjer seed.

How often should I feed a finch?
