Is this litter 100% dust free?

Answer by ChewyAug 09, 2020
This litter is 100% dust free.

does it stick to the paws?

Answer by ChewyMay 11, 2022
As with any litter, it is possible some particles may scatter outside the box when the cat uses or leaves the box. However, unlike traditional clay litters, clumping litter should not get muddy in the litter box so your cat will not leave muddy footprints or tracks outside the litter box.

No dust

This litter is not advertised as being dust free, but it is. That's the most stand-out feature for me. I've used one brand of litter in one form or another for six decades. Over the last couple of years, it has become increasingly more dusty. I even contacted the company a couple of years ago about the amount of dust their "99% dust-free" formula produces. Since that contact, the litter has gotten increasingly worse. A friend recommended this Arm & Hammer Slide & I'm 100% sold on it. It is different than any other litter that I've ever tried. I don't think it's made of clay. It's more like sand. It's quite dense & I was a little surprised when I first used it, but very happy once I saw it in action. For me, the most striking thing about this letter is that it seems to be completely dust-free. It absorbs liquids & forms strong clumps that are easily removed from the litter box. I can't really comment on its ability to control odors for a couple of reasons. First, I clean my cats' litter multiple times a day. I have a cat who's fussy about using only clean litter, so I keep it extra clean for her. Second, this same fussy cat is also extremely resistant to changes, Extremely. I've had to mix her old litter with new litter since introducing it six or seven months ago. Recently, I've been using that very dusty litter mixed half & half with Chewy's Grass litter. A friend recommended the grass litter & I love it, but my fussy girl refuses to use it by itself. As long as it's mixed half & half, she will use it. I reached my limit with the dusty litter. Literally, I've had to wash down the litter boxes, floors & items stored nearby every two to three days, even with having the dusty litter mixed with the grass litter. It seems to be getting progressively worse & after being a dedicated user of the now ridiculously dusty stuff I've used for 60 years, I decided to stop buying it. Included are some pics of the area around the cat litter pans that show the amount of dust I no longer have to deal with since switching to Arm & Hammer Slide. These pictures were taken two days after having cleaned up the area. Now, I'm mixing the grass litter with this Arm & Hammer Slide Litter. Though it's a bit different than traditional clay little, my fussy girl is using the mix & I couldn't be more thrilled. Both litters clump very well. The grass litter tends to track quite a bit, but the Arm & Hammer does not. I'd much rather vacuum up some tracked litter, than wash down everything in my pantry, which is right by the litter. A low pile rug catches most of the tracked litter. I'll be sticking with this Arm & Hammer litter. I'll continue mixing it with the grass litter, mainly because I'm getting older & carrying heavy clay litters has become increasingly difficult. The Arm & Hammer litter is heavy, too, but I buy it in smaller weight boxes so it's less of a strain. I love both the Arm & Hammer litter & the Chewy's Grass Litter, so I'll continue to use both & mix them half & half, at least as long as I still have my fussy girl. She's getting older, so I'm not sure how much longer I'll have her, but at this point I thinks it's unfair to try to force her to change to a litter she doesn't like. This solves the problem for both her & me. She gets litter she's comfortable with using & i am free of the dust clouds from the clay litter. That this litter slides right from the pan during cleaning is an added bonus, as far as I'm concerned. And it does slide right out & takes the grass litter along with it. I highly recommend it, whether you use it by itself or choose to mix it with another litter.

NOT ABOUT THE PRODUCT! This is about Chewy's autoship order.

I appreciate the convenience of the autoship service. However, I have encountered a recurring issue with my orders. Each month, when I purchase three 28 lb boxes

I appreciate the convenience of the autoship service. However, I have encountered a recurring issue with my orders. Each month, when I purchase three 28 lb boxes of cat litter along with Greenies, the Greenies, which are in a rather delicate plastic container, are consistently placed in the same box as the litter. This results in the treat container being crushed and the treats spilling into the cardboard shipping box. This has now occurred on three separate occasions. If this continues, I may have to consider purchasing my cat litter from a different retailer. I am puzzled as to why a 28 lb box of litter is shipped alongside fragile items. It seems more practical to ship the litter without an additional cardboard shipping box. If a shipping box is deemed necessary, I would kindly request that other items not be paired with the 28 lb boxes of cat litter.

Just Keeps Getting Worse

I've been using Arm & Hammer Slide litter since 2017. It was the absolute best litter out of them all for years, especially after trying so many different brands

I've been using Arm & Hammer Slide litter since 2017. It was the absolute best litter out of them all for years, especially after trying so many different brands for my beloved Molli. Once I found myself blessed by the cat distribution system years later with Bowser, I immediately bought Slide. I don't remember when, but within the last four years, Arm & Hammer introduced the Platinum blend. Without much thought, I bought it thru Chewy as it was on sale and kept buying it. Unfortunately, I ran out before deep cleaning the boxes and ran to Pets Mart to pick up a couple boxes. They only had the original version, so I got it and placed a reorder for Platinum on Chewy. The moment I poured out the "original" in the box, I knew something was off. The color was lighter, there was dust, and weird flakes (best way to describe them) mixed in the litter. It wasn't until I got the "Platinum" boxes that it became clear. Arm & Hammer made a cheaper/less effective mix for the "original" and rebranded the real OG as "Platinum"...for more money of course. They've since changed the box packagaing twice now, and the latest is even worse than the last. I'm happy they got rid of the wasteful plastic wrap, but litter falls out of the newest box so much while simultaneously trapping even more inside the crevices of the interior. Not to mention, they made the opening flap way more difficult to open (and I'm in my 30s) so I need a tool 9/10 to push the flap open. Finally, they fill the box with litter above the flap, which I learned the hard way the first time I opened it. While reducing packaging material for all products should be top priority for all companies, the amount of wasted product offsets that environmental impact. After nearly a decade, I'm seriously reconsidering my litter brand. All the family and friends I've recommended this litter to feel the same way. Truly disappointing, but still a good litter. The corporate cost-cutting decisions have ruined this amazing product, thru and thru.

My search continues for a light scent litter that's easy to clean, has minimal dust and doesn't track throughout my house. The last two brands I've tried (Tidy Cats Free & Clear, Lightweight and this A&H platinum) didn't hold up. Tidy Cats F&C Lightweight tracked EVERYWHERE and this A&H one creates so much dust. This specific A&H litter was highly rated by Consumer Reports for it's light scent and ease of clumping/cleaning; so I purchased it. NO WAY - The dust from this litter is UNBELIEVABLE!! It's so bad that I'm throwing it out. Giving it an extra star because I do like the light scent.

I wish it were cheaper, but it's really worth it. With having a private sanctuary of 11 senior cats, in addition to 8 other cats, we use a ton of litter in their 3 separate spaces. As you can imagine, if you use cheap, dusty litter, it ruins the air quality even with our diligent cleaning system. Slide is the only litter that can handle constant scooping without causing a dust storm. We've tried them all & this is the best for our clowder of cherished cats.

This is the best litter ever, yes it tracks some, but what litter doesn’t. It’s not sharp point pieces, almost zero dust. But this box is almost impossible to for me to lift. Usually I get the middle or small if I can afford the higher prices for smaller sizes. I do have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome aka EDS, so sometimes heavy things tend to cause dislocations or subluxations. Actually just moving that can happen lol. But it’s so easy to scoop, hardly need to scrape or break up anything. Especially if you keep it full enough. Cats seem to love it. Get the iPrimio Deep Shovel Cat Litter Scooper, XLarge, Silver, trust me. Its small spaced slats catch the smaller pieces if it crumbles, and it’s so sturdy but lightweight.

Always room for achievement

I am almost 50 and I picture someone older than I trying to pick up your deliveries. In my profession as a warehouse receiver I deal with 50 pounds or more of lifting opening and counting items. I come home to 58 pounds of cat litter in a box and 50 pounds of cat litter with cat food. I literally wobble trying to carry it to my house since I live in a rural area. We have no choice but to pay tourist prices or order online. We are loyal customers! Can you not pack these boxes lighter? I help our FedEx driver at work because she cannot lift this all day long for 8 or more hours. If you are paying by weight it all weighs the same. I would rather carry 4 20 lb boxes than 2 60lb. I will also mention we have a drop box at our drive because it’s gated. We are saving the drivers from having to walk with all this. And yet they struggle to get it off the truck and drop it. It’s just cardboard why bundle them when they weigh so much?

BEST. LITTER. EVER!!

After using regular, dusty, clumping litter for so long, this stuff was a game changer! I don't have to scrub the litter box, it literally slides right out! Literally!!!!

After using regular, dusty, clumping litter for so long, this stuff was a game changer! I don't have to scrub the litter box, it literally slides right out! Literally!!!! It's great stuff. AND it's not dusty. My cat seems to like it too. The 37 pound size is nice too. I'm not hauling heavy boxes of litter fron the store every other week. It lasts. I clean the box frequently & don't have to buy so much litter. It seems cleaner somehow. IMO, it seems to clump, but also when I'm cleaning it, the clumps seem moe intact, less crumbly. Maybe that's the slide feature. Regardless, the litter lasts longer. We love it!,

Brand new from the box in a deep cleaned Litter Robot litter box. The litter smelled funky and off. It has stunk up our whole apartment. Never smelled anything like that. Contacted customer service to report the issue and was told I had to mail it back (used litter in an open cardboard box of litter!) for the refund. I was just trying to report a potential issue with an expensive product to avoid other customers having the same trouble. To expect a customer to pay to ship it back to them, open and partially used, is wild. Chewy used to be great. Now they are one of the worst for customer service and care. Very disappointed. Sharing this review in case it is a product issue and not just a bad batch. Please use caution when ordering this item! You may be stuck with it! Edit to add: we have used Arm & Hammer Slide cat litter for years without any issues.

This one was recommended by a friend who cares for neighborhood strays. We were using tidy cat, and then the litter robot litter for a while. But I really like how well this stuff clumps. Our lil old lady has kidney disease and pees A LOT. Like, unfathomable amounts. But this stuff clumps well for scooping, and holds scent really well. Plus, she has arthritis in her paws and we've had trouble with other types of litter having too big of pieces/ being uncomfortable for her to squat on. She didn't like tidy cat on her feet, and would pee on the dog bed instead because it was softer. But she tolerates this really well, and hasn't gone pee elsewhere since we switched.
