Does the box come with a handle? Last one I bought did not, and it was very hard to pour and handle

Answer by ChewyAug 15, 2021
This litter includes a new opening - a tear strip instead of the pour spout. Using a tear strip can help reduce the package & materials needed to get the litter you and your cat love. The new packaging is only available online at this time. The 19 pound option still includes the handle.

What are the ingredients? "micro-granules" do not mean anything!

Answer by ChewyJan 01, 2020

How many boxes are in a case?

Answer by ChewySep 17, 2018

I've used this litter for quite a while now and it's been great up until the last couple months. The boxes I've gotten are definitely not 99.9 dust free when I open the box and I pour it into our container I have to go back and clean everything up because of the dust. Originally this litter was the bomb and I loved it. Now I might have to go back and do the what litter are we going to use now routine? Not only have I noticed the increase in dust but I can now smell even when they just pee in the litter box I can smell it.

I love it for the first week, but then...

I was looking for litter that wasn't as dusty as Tidy Cats Lightweight. And Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal delivers. There's like ZERO dust! WOW!! And excellent clumping

I was looking for litter that wasn't as dusty as Tidy Cats Lightweight. And Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal delivers. There's like ZERO dust! WOW!! And excellent clumping. I thought I'd found the PERFECT litter. But after about 5 days I noticed a weird sour odor in the room. It wasn't poop or pee, so I didn't think it was coming from the litter box. Sure enough, it was. I clean the litter box twice a day, every day, so there wasn't anything in the box when I opened the lid. I guess it was just the small amount that's left over after cleaning the litter, mixed with the very slightly woodsy nutty scent of the litter (which I loved in the beginning). The combination is nauseating, especially when I open the lid to the bucket where I pour the clumps. Can't even stay in the room when I'm doing that. I could deal with pee and poop smell, but this was something different. And vile. Dealbreaker, unfortunately, because I love everything else about this litter. Arm & Hammer Cloud Control has the same sour odor problem, but Arm & Hammer Seal does not, even though they're all a similar fine sand-like texture.

I wanted to address the review re Hate the Box. It is indeed hard to open but is a tradeoff on the box arriving unsmashed. I have a small table where I keep my Box Opening supplies. I start with a letter opener to easily lift the handle on top without ruining my fingernails. Then I take the handle of my hooked kitty comber (a small hammer will also do) and smash the outlined opening tab of the box with a giant karate chop, which opens the space without hurting the sturdy box, but pushes the tab inside the box. Next, I insert the curved kitty comber into the space and use it to pull out the tab -- all without ruining the fingernails. Then I grab my large pour spout and mix the Clump&Seal with a less expensive clumping brand in a plastic tub such as a Tidy Cats tub, because 50-60 percent of the Clump&Seal is enough to achieve the clumping I need in the litter box, and keeps the litter from sticking like cement between the toes of my old cat, and saves me a bit of money, and gives me control over the amount of weight I can safely lift. ( Would anyone other than cat lovers go thru this?? ) Hope this helps.

Nice Clumps and Odor Control

I have been buying the green tubs of litter (I am not going to mention that brand's name) for several years and have been satisfied with those--until Chewy ran out

I have been buying the green tubs of litter (I am not going to mention that brand's name) for several years and have been satisfied with those--until Chewy ran out of stock and I had to try a different brand. I tried Arm & Hammer and discovered that it is a much better brand than the old litter. The litter is finer, clumps better, and hold in odors better (I have four indoor cats and four litter boxes). I include two pictures--the first shows the litter from the green tub, it is much more coarse and the clumps just seem to be much looser-I don't dare shake it too much to sift it or else they will break apart. The second picture is the A&H brand. You can see the litter is much smoother (finer) and the urine has formed clumps that are much tighter and solid. Also, I have one litter box that always stinks--the cat has digestive problems--and with the A&H litter the smell is non-existent. I am very impressed with that. I haven't had had a chance to evaluate if it tracks less (such a big problem with litter getting tracked everywhere outside of the boxes) but I am optimistic. Yes, I would definitely recommend this litter--I am not going back to that old litter in the green tub.

I've always had cats. This litter is the ONLY litter I continue to buy without looking for a new kind. We have 6 cats and go through lots of litter. People come into our home and can't believe we have 6 cats. Our cats are pretty hygienic but even still, the litter does a great job of minimizing dust and keeping odor controlled. We've used this litter for several years now and don't anticipate changing anytime soon.

So this was the cat litter I had switched to after a year of using Precious Cat litter. It began to stink and smell pungent. Then I tried this "Clump and Seal" litter when it came out and I loved it. It's so good sometimes I have to remind myself to check the box! *I do use it in combination with a litter deodorizer by the same brand. The combo really works.* There was about eight months where I switched over to a natural pellet brand to be more conscious of his intake dust and what not due to him getting older. Even though this brand states 100% dust free, I felt it was dusty coming out of the box. But not as much when I'm scooping. My cat is very very understanding and patient with me. But he hated the pellets. He wouldn't even go in the litter box anymore physically to urinate and just go to the edge just to poop barely. So I stop torturing both of us because I started to hate the pellets too!! Even though it smells like a pinewood Forest, it was the true definition of dusty. It coats surrounding objects in a layer. Also it would begin to mold if you don't scoop quick in the summer. So we switched back our original favorite brand and here we are!!! This gets a 9.3/10. Cons: They don't have a 40 pound option for this particular type. Price per pound is a little high but worth it. Sticks to the box some when completely emptying. Pro: Very little smell. Doesn't come in a plastic bag to ruin the environment. Scoops great! Probably the only litter I will ever use or recommend! Thanks for listening

Box now impossible to "handle"!!

Who, at Arm & Hammer, came up with the bright idea to take the nylon, built-in handle off this 28lb box! Then, to make it worse, to open, the whole top comes off!

Who, at Arm & Hammer, came up with the bright idea to take the nylon, built-in handle off this 28lb box! Then, to make it worse, to open, the whole top comes off! I'm 70yrs old, and it was hard enough to get the litter out of Chewy box with NO HANDLE, but now with the whole top off, someone please explain how I'm suppose to pick it up & pour! This is the best odor blasting, plus less tracking litter I've used, but if I can't "handle" the box, it does me no good! I'll either have to change brands, or buy 1 bucket of less effective liter & have my daughter come over to pour 28lbs of Clump/Seal into the bucket. Better yet, Arm & Hammer, could just put the dang handle back on the box!

Love it! Low dust, low odor great clumping!!!

My cat, Jasper, has been using this litter for 15 months. I actually started him out on the lighter weighted formula of this brand, but had such a problem with it

My cat, Jasper, has been using this litter for 15 months. I actually started him out on the lighter weighted formula of this brand, but had such a problem with it tracking on the floors, despite using a great litter box mat that catches debris. This weight, the original weight, which I switched to, works out sooooo much better for my cat’s needs! Tracking debris has greatly diminished. The clumping ability of this litter is and has always been superb. Its also not perfumey, like tons of other litters on the market, which is a great feature...as added dyes and scents are not healthy, for pets or humans. Also, I’ve learned that my cat’s diet was the culprit for his aweful smelling poo’s. When I transitioned him from a high quality, grain free wet diet to a Freeze Dried (‘raw’) diet, the smell of his poo is pretty much non-existent. Yep- true, true!!! Scented/perfumy litters are Not needed if my cat is eating a diet designed for his Obligate Carnivoris-ness :->
