Why is my Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal Litter making larger, heavier clumps than it used to?

Does this have silica in it?

Do you guys have a smaller (lighter) size box of Arm and Hammer Clump and Seal cat litter? If not, will you be able to get some? it's sooo heavy! :( Thanks, Lynn

I'm pretty new to the clumping litter. I continually scoop out my kitty's business, sometimes within minutes of her using it. My question is how often do you need to empty the litter box to clean and refill with new litter.

We recommend totally changing the litter out in the cat box every three to four weeks depending on use. Wash your cat boxes with hot water and a mild detergent like Ivory dish soap and then replace with about 3 inches of new litter

Hands down, in my opinion, this litter is by far the best. There is literally no dust at all. I had a brand B4 and the entire area was always covered in a light gray dust - but not this brand. Plus it is more like sand, which my cats love. I actually bought 4 different types of litter and set them all up and two were completely ignored, other was occasionally used, but this one was the clear choice and winner. It clumps tight and once fully dries does not break apart. Every 3 or 4 days I sprinkle in a thin layer of fresh litter to help boost odor control. It does a great job of keeping odor down and with 6 cats that is definitely a plus!! I always recommend this litter to anyone who has cats and they often thank me because they love it as much as I do !

I am a really big fan of the scent of this cat litter. It gives it a kind of clean scent that reminds me a bit of laundry day! Also, not too much dust when scooping and refilling. My cat also doesn’t track much, if any, of this litter through my house. I let him on my bed with no worries of litter getting all over my bed. Truly love it!

Great Stuff: No Dust, No Litter Trail

We returned to A&H Clump and Seal after trying A&H's newer AbsorbX formulation. The regular Clump & Seal works great. No dust, and our 2 cats track very little

We returned to A&H Clump and Seal after trying A&H's newer AbsorbX formulation. The regular Clump & Seal works great. No dust, and our 2 cats track very little out of the litter pan. The AbsorbX was very light, but the price for that lightness was a daily trail of litter throughout the house and on our clothes after the cats would sit in our laps. Regular Clump & Seal is heavier; scooping feels like sifting through beach sand. That's fine, because the litter stays in the pan, not on us and our floors. We'll happily stick with regular Clump & Seal.

Meh, not the greatest

I was excited that they claim 100% dust free and the "clump & seal" to reduce odor. I have this box in our large master bath and our 4 week old kitten (only cat)

I was excited that they claim 100% dust free and the "clump & seal" to reduce odor. I have this box in our large master bath and our 4 week old kitten (only cat) makes tiny poops twice a day and this does nothing to "seal" in the odor and is very, very perfume-y so it smells like roadside bathroom deodorizer and poo, which is very unpleasant. The perfume smell is overwhelming even when the box is clean, so much so that I'm almost tempted to move myself to the guest bathroom to get ready in the mornings. The clumps hold together pretty well, but like all other scoopable litter, this ends up all over the place. The litter box is in the bathtub and previously I'd just fill it with water to let the wayward granules that have been flicked out of the box break down into clay, then rinse them down, but this stays like little pebbles and I have to smash them with my finger after soaking them to get them to break down enough I feel comfortable with them going down the drain. On to a flushable version next.

Best Litter Ever

I had 5 saved cats in my house, now 3 are still alive. This litter gets cleaned out daily and there is no smell in the house. This litter leaves no dust also

The urine and poop get into a ball and easy to scoop up and remove. This litter lasts a lot longer then others I tried in the past 30+ years.

My problem is my cat doesn’t like it and I know this because he’s peeing everywhere but his litter box. I think I’ll switch back to my other arm and hammer litter. Absolutely ZERO smell

I was using EverClean litter which is very expensive, so we decided to try some cheaper brands to see if they could compare. We tried Fresh Step, Scoop Away, and

I was using EverClean litter which is very expensive, so we decided to try some cheaper brands to see if they could compare. We tried Fresh Step, Scoop Away, and the regular Arm and Hammer litters (tried multicast, fresh scent, unscented, many varieties in each brand) and with all of them, the house smelled terrible in about a week. I had to completely empty and wash out the litter box once a week to keep the house smell okay, it was such a pain in the neck. We finally tried Clump and Seal and even after months of use, we haven't noticed any stinky smells even for a second. We have an open litter box without a lid, so there is no hiding it when there is even the slightest smell of pee-- but this litter makes it like we don't have a cat, there is ABSOLUTELY no smell. And the clumping is great as well. We have an automatic litter box, so it's important to have a well-clumping litter to make sure the box will be able to scoop it all out. The box looks basically clean and unused every time I look at it because this litter clumps around every single bit of waste.
