We recently adopted a 2 year old boy from the shelter who has a history of asthma. We’ve always used standard, unscented clay litter with our other two cats, but the dust was causing wheezing in our new addition. We saw this recommended on online forums and although I was skeptical of the no dust claims (every clay litter seems to claim it’s “99.9% dust free”), this one actually is almost completely free of dust. Unfortunately when we bought it in the store, we didn’t realize that it has fragrance. I’m usually not sensitive to fragrances but this one drives me crazy. I can be on the other side of the room and I can still smell it. It’s started giving me headaches and I realized I was avoiding the room because I just couldn’t stand the god awful perfume smell. I really wish they made this in an unscented version because my cats don’t like large pellet texture litter and this one really is dust free. Also, why market your litter as better for respiratory systems of people and cats and then fill it with an irritating fragrance? I gave it 3 stars because it clumps well and legitimately doesn’t have dust. However the fragrance is irritating for me and our vet said no scented litter for our asthmatic kitty so that kind of defeats the point. If you’re only worried about dust when cleaning or pouring and you and your cats don’t mind the scent, maybe it’ll work for you. Unfortunately I can’t stand it.

I have a Litter Robot. I used their litter, and not long after I got the robot, Gambit, my 1.5-year-old (at the time) male cat started having breathing problems. He lost over a pound in a week and stopped eating. I could only get him to eat the squeezy cat treats. I took him to the vet, and after $1000+, he was diagnosed with asthma. I realized that the Litter Robot litter was very dusty. I gave Gambit his medicine every day and switched to this litter immediately. It has worked perfectly in my Litter Robot, and Gambit has not had another asthmatic episode. He was a very sick kitty, and I felt awful. This litter fixed the problem and saved me the cost of more vet bills.

The original Cloud Control is our favorite litter. Having minimal dust and a safe LIGHT scent is a top priority that I will gladly pay more for. This line is for sure the lowest dust and we've tried almost every brand of clumping litter. So I tried this one, and after a week I really haven't seen a difference besides this one being more expensive. Odor control, litter scent, longevity and lack of dust seem just as good as the original - which is less expensive. Unfortunately Chewy does not carry that one so I'll have to go back to my local pet store to purchase it. I hope Chewy will carry the original line one day ;)

I’ve been looking for a low dust litter, since I have one cat with runny eyes and another who recently had bronchial inflammation, both issues that could have been aggravated by the really dusty litter I used to use. I settled on Cloud Control after reading several rankings of litter. This little is not only low dust, but it’s absolutely no dust. It has the consistency of sand, but clumps really well, really quickly. I don’t understand the reviewer who said it doesn’t clump, since I’ll scoop right after one of the cats pees in the box (my boys always need to use one of the boxes while I’m scooping) and it’s already a solid clump. The cats used to track the old, lightweight litter all over the house, but since we switched to Cloud Control, I haven’t found any litter outside the litterbox room. They have a litter mat in front of their boxes, which used to be insufficient, but now is perfect. The only negative is that it does a terrible job of odor control. I put odor absorbing beads in the room with the litterboxes, which helps a little, but not enough. I’ll live with the odor issue, since my main concern was the dust. I choose my cats’ health over a better smelling litter.

I used this for years with no issues then a couple months ago I got a couple boxes that wouldn’t clump right. Weird but got two new boxes & it was fine. Now my most recent two box shipment, the litter is more beige, doesn’t dry & clump well again, and it’s like gravel not sand anymore. Both boxes are a lot of larger grains more similar to non-clumping litter & has big litter rocks in it? I need a fine sandy litter for my cat so this isn’t going to work. I ordered another two boxes asap to see if those are better but if not I’m gonna have to find a different litter. Disappointed.

Works great, but is not lightly scented. I have 13 cats and 10 litter boxes. I simply do not have room for the box for every cat and some spares rule. I thought based on the awesome clumping ability of this litter it would make life a bit easier. Didn't really want a scent, but thought I would be alright with a light, hypoallergenic scent. I changed one box in each of the 3 rooms that have boxes. The scent is strong in each room. My poor Curly was having breathing in minutes. Switched from the open boxes to the covered ones that she doesn't use. That helped, but it's still had her coughing again this morning. Dumped them out and went back to the old litter. Clumped great, scent not so great.

I was looking for litter that wasn't as dusty as Tidy Cats Lightweight. And Arm & Hammer Cloud Control delivers. There's like ZERO dust! WOW!! And excellent clumping. I thought I'd found the PERFECT litter. But after about 5 days I noticed a weird sour odor in the room. It wasn't poop or pee, so I didn't think it was coming from the litter box. Sure enough, it was. I clean the litter box twice a day, every day, so there wasn't anything in the box when I opened the lid. I guess it was just the small amount that's left over after cleaning the litter, mixed with the very slightly woodsy nutty scent of the litter (which I loved in the beginning). The combination is nauseating, especially when I open the lid to the bucket where I pour the clumps. Can't even stay in the room when I'm doing that. I could deal with pee and poop smell, but this was something different. And vile. Dealbreaker, unfortunately, because I love everything else about this litter. Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal has the same sour odor problem, but Arm & Hammer Seal does not, even though they're all a similar fine sand-like texture.

OK, so I don’t normally review products but I have to review this. As a cat mom of six I struggle so much to find the right litter for the cats, something that isn’t gonna be a nightmare to clean off of my hardwood floors and something that is still on my pocket. I have changed litters so many times because so many of them are super super dusty to the point where I have dust on the walls all the time it’s impossible to keep up with. I’ve also switched because the litter either clumps too much or when I was trying the lightweight litter. It didn’t clump enough, which I actually loved at first because it was very easy to clean, but then I realized because it doesn’t clump the urine. The litter ends up smelling so early on and it was a constant game of changing their litter and it got very expensive very quickly. All of that being said, I have six cat litter boxes and six cats and the cats essentially were fine with using whichever one so that out of the list of things that was important to me the next thing on the list was the dust because that I absolutely could not stand. Hands-down, this litter is the least dusty litter I have ever ever ever ever used in the 39 years of cat ownership. I honestly don’t know why other litters have to be so messy but even with this one literally there’s no residual sand left around the litter box. It is honestly a miracle and a game changer.

Pets score 2: My cats won't poop in the box with this litter, although after initial avoidance, they do pee in it now. I plan on giving it a few more weeks to see if they acclimate before trying yet another different litter. Part of the problem seems to be the scent. Although it us labeled as "light scent," even I can smell it from the living room (the box is in the laundry room), and one of my cats has a very sensitive nose. If they offered an unscented option, I think it would work for us. Owner score 4: Personally, I would love this litter if my cats would use it. It's the first truly almost dust-free litter I have ever used. It does track some, but no worse than other litters, and a litter mat in front of the box solves that issue. The consistency is like fine sand, so I found I had to lower the level I put in the litter box to help the cats feel more stable walking on it. This is not a criticism, just an observation if you are switching from a coarser litter. Curiously, urine clumps seem denser with this litter, so I am finding I don't need to add litter as frequently. My only real issue is the scent and that the at the cats haven't accepted it.

I bought 4 boxes of this litter, and after filling up my cats’ litter boxes realized 2 of the boxes had the actual cloud control litter (on the right) and 2 boxes had a totally different litter in the cloud control packaging. The litter on the left is extremely dusty, smells horrible, and gets tracked all over my apartment. This is not the first time I’ve received this different, dusty litter in the cloud control packaging. Would give zero stars if I could.
