NOT A MEAL - MISLEADING PACKAGING
I was initially very happy to find this brand. The ingredients appeared high quality, there was no unpleasant smell, and my cats loved it. After about two months,
I was initially very happy to find this brand. The ingredients appeared high quality, there was no unpleasant smell, and my cats loved it. After about two months, I noticed both of my cats were losing weight. When I read the label more carefully, I realized this product is meant to be a supplement, not a complete and balanced meal. This should be stated much more clearly so pet owners don’t mistakenly use it as a primary food source. The lack of clear labeling is misleading and potentially harmful. Very disappointing. I felt awful and like a terrible pet owner. I panicked when I realized that I was not providing my cats with adequate nourishment.
Could make it more apparent that it’s not a food, but a treat.

This is essentially the same canned chicken you can buy at the grocery, marked up in cost, and has a tiny little disclaimer that it’s not a balanced food. It has to be fed in addition to a normal amount of dry food for the animal to get all the things she needs to survive. That should be in big print, I think. So I have a very expensive box of cat treats. Best part? She doesn’t really like it much.

I've been searching for a new cat food that my 2 cats will be excited about eating that won't give them any intestional issues. I decided to try a "limited ingredient" food. They love it! Only downside is that it is not clearly advertised as a complete food. On the back of the label, it is shown that it is a "complementary/supplement" to your cat's regular diet. So, it is back to the drawing board for me. I wish it was clearly marked on the front of the box, but perhaps they wouldn't sell as well if they did that. *shrug*

I only wish there was a pack that combined chicken, pumpkin, and tuna as I do not like to feed cow cheese to cats (it is not good for them, even though they enjoy it).

After trying a variety of foods we found that he loved this shredded limited ingredient Applaws chicken. Guess he’s decided he’s earned the bougie title in our house. We have since added this to autoship

I was pretty much horrified when it arrived and I realized it was a “complementary” food: as in it does *not* supply full nutrition. huh. Not what I expected from a brand that appears right next to the real food (not in treats and toppers) in the pet store’s high-end aisle. My bad, should’ve read more carefully, BUT not only does it not supply full dietary nutrients, but it’s full of RICE?? So. Costs as much or more as grain- free full-nutrition cat food and then is full of rice filler??? Nope. Yes, I tossed some in with her other, real food to try to use it but she hated it. So my dogs really enjoyed their yummy topper on their real food for a month or so.
