I was really excited about the dry food for its limited ingredients and was planning to use it as a snack option for my cat. I gave it to my cat only for 3 days
I was really excited about the dry food for its limited ingredients and was planning to use it as a snack option for my cat. I gave it to my cat only for 3 days about 1/4 cup a day and then he started to have diarrhea! Really stinky ones for a week as I tried process of elimination to cut out everything he eats one by one to figure out what was bothering him. He eats homemade cat food that just chicken and liver/hearts as his primary food for a few years now but that doesn’t bother him and he also eats a wet canned food that also doesn’t bother him. So I decided maybe it’s this new dry food and read the ingredients again and found that it contains flaxseed and a light bulb went off. I didn’t think that would be a problem when I purchased it. But now it does make sense since it does the same to humans. It took a few days for the diarrhea to stop but poor baby was in discomfort. I made sure he was hydrated and watched him closely. Why put unnatural ingredients in pet food? That’s not what they eat in the wild! It’s a waste of money purchasing pet food that causes harmful to our babies. So disappointed.

I switched my 2, 2 year old kitties to Applaws chicken in July. I learned more about the use of by product and insoluble fiber in other dry foods (basically you’re paying for more cat poop!). I also thought the odor, size and additives in Royal Canin were off putting, my boy kitty never seemed to like it. They came from a rescue and I kept them on the same dry food until I switched to Applaws. So, I narrowed the real food options down very fast. Immediately my cats liked this food better. They eat less dry food and they seem much more satisfied and happy with this kibble. They get dry food from an auto feeder for breakfast and lunch and wet food at dinner. I’m changing the litter box a lot less, It’s less smelly too. I have a PetKit PuraMax. Smaller kibble pieces seem to be easier for the cats to eat and they come out of the PetLibro dual feeder better. Highly recommend this cat food! A whole 4 lb bag fits in the PetLibro auto feeder too! No more giant bag of cat food screaming “I’m a cat lady!” On top of my fridge.

I ended up switching to Applpaws after two of my three cats exhibited allergic symptoms to Blue Buffalo True Solutions Digestive Care, which they had been on for some time under the previous name, Blissful Belly. The allergic symptoms have dissipated (no more itchy rashy skin) and interestingly, significantly less vomiting. Bonus prizes.

My girlfriend tried it for her cat that was sick and she tried this Dry Chicken Applaws and she is also recovering and doing extremely well. This is an all Natural food that is FABULOUS for the fur kids. I now have all my cats on it. I just wish they sold the large bags!!! I prayer they continue to sell this. it has been a miracle for my cats!!!! THANKS CHICKEN APPLAWS!!!!!!

I have been feeding this food to my 16 year old cat since she developed a lot of food allergies last year. This was one of 2 dry foods she cuould eat. Now, she has been throwing up and had diarrhea for the past week every time she eats this food. I don't know if something changed, but I saw another comment with the same issue. Will not feed my kitty this food again. Now I am again on the search for another food that she can eat safely. In the meantime I am syringe feeding her a wet food that she can eat (she refuses to eat canned food as she is addicted to dry kibbles). Trust me I wish she would change, but have tried many times.

Its a given that at least 1 will snub any particular brand but I have found that if I mix several brands in the feeder that all cats will happily eat it. When I get a new food I always put out a separate bowl to see if they like it or if there is any digestive issues before adding it to the feeder. This variety was not eaten at first but when I mixed it with their other kibble they ate it. I think it is a good food and would purchase again.

She doesn't like moist foods very much so I've been trying to get her to eat more moist foods by mixing it and with dry problem is that when she eats this sheets too much and she runs around and winds up vomiting all the food back up. So I've been looking for foods that will help her maintain a weights as well as something that she can eat and keep down. I finally found this dry food that she eats with gusto and is able to keep down and is actually putting on some weight with. She is an adult cat and fluctuates between 4:00 to 6 lb on a regular basis. Yes that is her adult weight. My other cats love this food as well but as they are much larger cats between 13 to 16 lb, I try to keep them on a different dry and moist mix as they have no issues keeping food down. The only issue is for them to not eat everyone else's food. My Little calico really loves this food, and I love the fact that she is actually doing well on it. I will continue to purchase this product so long as it's available.
