Important Safety Information

See full Prescribing Information. Do not use Apoquel Chewable in dogs less than 12 months of age or those with serious infections. Apoquel Chewable may increase the chances of developing serious infections, and may cause existing parasitic skin infestations or pre-existing cancers to get worse. Consider the risks and benefits of treatment in dogs with a history of recurrence of these conditions.  New neoplastic conditions (benign and malignant) were observed in clinical studies and post-approval.  Apoquel Chewable has not been tested in dogs receiving some medications including some commonly used to treat skin conditions such as corticosteroids and cyclosporines. Do not use in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs. Most common side effects are vomiting and diarrhea. Apoquel Chewable has been used safely with many common medications including parasiticides, antibiotics and vaccines.

INDICATIONS: Control of pruritus (itching) associated with allergic dermatitis and control of atopic dermatitis in dogs at least 12 months of age.

Lily had red, raised. inflamed irritations all over her belly, back legs, spread spreading into her chest area. I knew that it had to be to an allergic reaction to something in the yard. Within two days of being on this medication, I saw an improvement. Within a week, my girl was back to jumping, wagging her tail, and doing less slick and scratching.

The actual medicine is good for my dog but she isn't crazy about the taste and seems a bit hard for a chewable. I have tried cutting it up and surrounding it with peanut butter or many other tricks but she will still find it and spit it out most of the time. But that is my dog. The medicine makes her less itchy and sneezy - so that is why she gets it.

My dog would lick herself incessantly. It was guttural, annoying, frustrating, and I didn’t know what to do. Since we started her on these (I got the 16mg), she has stopped licking her “sensitive regions” and paws almost completely. There’s still some licking here and there, but it’s nowhere near as intense and doesn’t last very long. I just got 30 to start out but I’m signing up for the subscription to save some money now that I know it works. Definitely recommend you at least try it instead of spending hundreds a month on allergy shots.

My poor dog was covered in welts and her armpits and feet were raw and bleeding. Her legs were so bad they were gooey with pus. The day after her first pill, the smaller welts were all gone and she had quit scratching and chewing. I'd tried benadryl, changed her food to no chicken and nothing worked except this miracle pill. It is dang expensive but wow it works!

We had been using Benadryl for the last year for our dogs itchy skin. The vet said to try Apoquel, so we did. It has been no different than the Benadryl for treating our girls symptoms. Let's do the math - Apoquel $90 a month, or Benadryl $6 a month = we will stick with the Benadryl!

When spring starts my dog starts itching like crazy. His ears turn red and irritated, skin gets rashes and he is uncomfortable. Apoquel works and makes him comfortable. He takes the chewable tablet without hesitation (i am sure he likes the taste), so this is definitely a great thing that a chewable tablet is available.

delivery was almost 2 weeks late, email notices did not match delivery date at all. I worry that the product has been exposed to freezing tempertures by dropping package at an unexpected location,( below my mailbox on the street) and leaving it there exposed to the elements as well as theft. Packege was not meant for mailbox, it was a lot bigger, deliveries normally bring it at least up to the gate, if not front door. Another worry is that medication in the package has been exposed to freezing temperatures during the 10 days transit, in storage/warehouse. I am thinking about returning product and get it replaced due to delivery hardships that might have compromised the product's usability.

The carrier left a box of prescription Apoquel pills on my front doorstep. It contained 60 tablets. My 1 year old dog, Star, a 100 pound Anatolian Shepherd, took the box and ripped it open. She ingested all 60 pills. I was horrified. I rushed her to the emergency vet and they induced vomiting and gave her activated charcoal and put her on an IV with lipids. I spent the entire night with her. Thank God she pulled through but we don’t know what long term effects of the overdose will have on her liver, kidneys and cardiovascular system. My bill was almost $5,000. There must be a law that packages with prescription drugs be labeled so a carrier is required to either have the package signed or placed in a secure location to ensure that no animal or child can have access to it. I have just spent the last 48 hours on an emotional roller coaster of grief wondering if my best friend was going to live or die. This should never have happened and I pray no one else has to go through what our family just did.

These are amazing pills, our dog has allergies and without these she will chew her feet until they are bloody and she can’t walk on them. I only wish I knew what was causing the allergies we’ve tried a lot of different foods like the vet suggested but nothing seems to work. She did get better when we made homemade food for her, but she was getting to skinny and it was costing us more than we could afford the vet said to put her back on the dry food to regulate her weight better, and the allergies got bad again.
