Great for ponds, equally great for large goldfish tanks

Goldfish and their Koi cousins - are just plain dirty! They'd be happy, living their lives in murky, muddy water - but we wouldn't get to see their beauty, and few people would want to keep a mucky mini pond with mostly invisible occupants. This stuff provides both barley and bacterial colonies for breaking down pond sludge, plus clarifying the water so you can actually SEE your beauties! Helpful after pond/tank vacuuming and water changes, this boosts biological activity in your filter system and substrate. This is a dry, powdery or crumbly material; my fish always eat some when added to the tank. I first saw this product being used in large ornamental Koi ponds; my own tank is 75 gallons, and is easier to maintain for goldfish if I pretend it's a tiny pond, rather than a large tank. Very effective, and inexpensive for the amazing results it will produce in your pond/tank.

Give this product a chance and it WILL work. I live in Ohio and my pond turned to nothing but sludge and algae toward the end of last summer. Nothing I did removed it. I have 8 goldfish in there and couldnt even see them. I dont like using chemicals so I decided to try this. I also used Tetra Pond Block for algae removal which IS a slight chemical. Together, i am seeing a huge difference in my pond. Its been 2 weeks but be patient. I now see my fish. These products will not work overnight as some claim. I initially started cleaning my filter pads 2x/day and now Im down to every other day. They will not work by themselves. You must devote some time to this no matter what but you are not draining and scrubbing the pond. Simple maintenance plus netting out the dead algae after cleaning the filter pads WORKS. Give it a try but be patient if your pond is really bad.

I filled a 252 gallon outdoor tank with fresh well water and a few hours later added the amount specified. The next day, there was what looked like a film over ther water. I stirred the water and at least half the dose disappeared, mixing into the water and heading to the bottom of the tank. With movement after the powder soaks up the water and becomes moistened, the material is finally able to sink. Just by the smell I know it is a good product but am afraid that my large goldfish might breathe the stuff in. I am going to use it only when I can see a need to add some, just as a protective measure for my fish.

I have been using this product for the last three years in a 8500 gallon two pond system with waterfall connected by a creek. Previously I used multiple liquid, high cost products and still had problems with large mounts of string algae. I added aerators and started using only API Pond-Zyme only and my maintenance has decreased by at least 60%. I highly recommend.

Every Spring at Pond start-up always dreaded the SLUDGE build-up and the constant cleaning of the Pump and Canister Filter Pads almost twice a day. Started using the Pond-Zyme and after the first week, along with the other Bacteria additive, it cut the amount of sludge debris in half! Now the water is cleaner and I'm back to the normal cleaning routine.

Consistent results

I have used Pond-zyme since 2000 in our ornamental goldfish ponds that ranged in size from 500 to 1,400 gallons. Simple to use with solid results.

I have a very large pond w/two waterfalls and an over population of over sized fish. I use this every time I clean the filter and it really breaks down the waste and helps keep the water clean. I have to use more than the directions suggest to get the necessary results. And I don't have to travel across town to a pet shop to get it.

I used this product in my fish pond and 3 of my two year old fish died. I used less than the recommended amount. There were no other chemicals in the pond. This products is not safe for fish or the dead bullfrog that had lived in the pond. I emptied the 200 gallon pond. Hopefully my remaining fish will live. Not happy.

No more sludge

Love this stuff. I was having to clean out the pond's filter 2x a day. After one dose, the pond is running beautifully!
