The supplement will vary based on your horses weight. Horses of all classes and ages 1 - 2 tablespoons per 1000 lbs body weight daily. Or 2 - 4 tablespoons to 1 hour prior to an event which may create excitement or stress. The large end of the enclosed scoop measures 1 tablespoon (approx. 1/2 oz). Or as recommended by a veterinarian.

After trying countless calming supplements, I’m so happy I gave this one a try. My mare developed anxiety after moving her to my new ranch and wouldn’t stand still for anything. I’m talking prancing around when walking her with a lead rope, shaking on cross ties and always on edge under saddle. I’ve tried everything from feed to supplements and I literally noticed a difference with Via Calm after a WEEK! She was relaxed, both on the ground and under saddle and I’m able to take her on trails ALONE (words I never thought I’d say). I love this stuff and she eats it right up (which also never happens with other ones I’ve tried). It’s actually a pleasure to ride her again and she is always in a great mood. I didn’t have high hopes for this. I have a 19 year old trotter new to riding that just started training a few months ago. He had been pretty scared of his new world under saddle and truthfully, I was thinking it was too much for him. I saw a post about this on Facebook and tried it. I started it with 1 tablespoon for a week and then went to 2. It took about 2 weeks to kick in. He is now figuring out life with a calm mind and is progressing amazingly well. He has a wonderful trainer that deserves much credit as well. I whole heartedly recommend this.

My wee, senior donkey, Elizabeth, has anxiety issues during farrier and vet visits. I try to give her natural supplements rather than the synthetics that are too harsh on her system. Often it was a fight to get the prescribed sedation product into her mouth, which had a negative impact on our relationship. Via-Calm is easily added to her beet pulp mash as needed, and she doesn't mind it being there. It doesn't make her dopey, it evens her out to be more cooperative while having her hooves trimmed or the vet examination process.

I have a Palamino TWH rescue that was severely beaten by her owner. She trusts no one, except me now, and is a very timid and nervous horse. I give her a scoop twice a day with her grain, and it does help a great deal in calming her down. It's the best in price, too. I have to be careful because she has fecal wet syndrome, and it does not affect her symptoms at all. I've been using it for almost a year, and if I miss a day, I can see she's a bit edgy compared to when not given. Now it'a no cure, but it does work.

It takes his behavior from a 6 out of 10 to a 3 or 4 maybe. He tends to get over-excited on the trails and this really helps him hold it together. I sometimes give an extra 2 scoops a half hour before I load him, if we're going out trail riding. I highly recommend this (very affordable) supplement. I do think it needs to be fed at a 2 scoop rate though.

We have a very dominant and bossy 22-year-old mare, who lost her best buddy in April and was very sad. We decided to adopt a rescue gelding, also 22 years old who is just a sweet boy. However, our mare was just too aggressive with him, biting him as he passed by her stall door and making him freak out at her unacceptable behavior out in the pasture. We know it takes time for 2 horses to get acquainted but this was too extreme so I came to Chewy looking for something natural to calm her down. I ordered Via Calm and started her on it immediately. It made a huge difference in just a day. In fact, I dropped the dose down to only once a day. She has come to really love the sweet guy, grazes next to him, shares the paddock area now and all is peaceful. I highly recommend this product. I have a spirited Saddlebred Gelding.. He’s on edge every time you take him out alone or keep him in the barn alone .. I use Via Calm in his daily feed and it has noticeably taken the edge off of him. I bought a gaited gelding that appears to have been abused.. He’s very mannerly and respectful WHEN you get ahold of him..He’s very hard to catch. He stiffens if you go to pet him like he’s afraid .. I’ve had him for 7 months with little progress on catching him or getting him comfortable with touching. I decided to try Via Calm a week ago .. I’ve noticed a big difference .. Today I stood in the opposite end of his stall ignoring him and in no time he walked over to me .. He’s a lot less flinchy and stiff when you go to pet him or reach for his halter and I like that it doesn’t make them groggy ..
