How wide is the doorway in between

What kind of wood is used? I assume the sides are not waterproofed?

All Aivituvin products are made of solid fir wood and coated with non-toxic and eco-friendly water-based paint.

This is advertised as an outdoor/indoor habitat. How does water drain out of it for outdoor use? Are there drain holes in the bottom for when it rains?

Make a perfect Quail brooder

I took a chance on this turtle enclosure after reading some of the negative reviews, but I’m glad I did. This works GREAT as a chick brooder with the attached arm

I took a chance on this turtle enclosure after reading some of the negative reviews, but I’m glad I did. This works GREAT as a chick brooder with the attached arm to use with a heat/ceramic lamp. It was super easy to put together, and I built my own little stand for it to sit on. The wood/paint does have an odor upon unboxing, but it eventually went away and I don’t notice it at all now that it’s filled with pellets/bedding for the birds. I’m thinking about getting a second one to replace my other homemade brooder for multiple hatches. I am only giving 4/5 stars because it does need some time to air out before use, but order and assemble a week or two ahead of time and you’ll be fine.

I bought two of these for my box turtles and they LOVE them! The two separate rooms are great.. no need for logs so they can escape the heat lamp anymore, they just hide out in their dark bedrooms now! There are boards that twist to hold the doors up for feeding and cleaning which is very handy. The "living room" area is large enough to house a large size water dish/pool, light basking area and food dish. The only thing I would change is that the separation wall doesn't go all the way to the plastic liner at the bottom so the substrate gets pushed out when they try to burrow.

Works for the Time Being!

This is something for our tortoise in the cooler weather, so I was not going to go through the hassle of returning it. Hopefully it will last for a few winters (fingers crossed). Our tortoise LOVES it though! So much better than the glass open front enclosure she had. She is less stressed in something like this. Again, some minor flaws.. but if I paid more I would have been really angry about it. Also the way they put the wrap on the acrylic windows.... you had to take it all apart (from the wood). Hard to explain. Anyway..... Not the best but made a tortoise very happy.

You get what you pay for, I guess

Nowhere in the description does it say that it’s made out of cedar, which is highly toxic to reptiles. I’ve mostly heard that it’s only the cedar chips and shavings

Nowhere in the description does it say that it’s made out of cedar, which is highly toxic to reptiles. I’ve mostly heard that it’s only the cedar chips and shavings that release oils and aromas that are toxic to reptiles, but still, I would rather not use a cedar enclosure for a reptile. Otherwise, the quality is OK. I’m definitely going to use it until I can’t anymore. It’s for my 1yr old Sulcata. Also added some pictures of damages.

Do Not Buy

First off Chewy has been great. With that said avoid this habitat at all cost. I have ordered 3 from Chewy. First one fedex said it was delivered but wasn't. Chewy

First off Chewy has been great. With that said avoid this habitat at all cost. I have ordered 3 from Chewy. First one fedex said it was delivered but wasn't. Chewy sent a replacement. We got that one and it came damaged but not to the point of total loss more cosmetic but still. So we got another tortoise and orded another one. This one came totally damaged. Chewy gave me a refund but not before being told by the company we don't do replacement parts. So to recap, Chewy is the best thank God for that. Aivituvin not so much.

Best poultry brooder I have ever had!

I bought one of these tortoise houses earlier this year for brooding the ducklings I hatch. I have used all sorts of DIY brooder buckets the past few years, but

I bought one of these tortoise houses earlier this year for brooding the ducklings I hatch. I have used all sorts of DIY brooder buckets the past few years, but I never could make the perfect combination of lid security from my cats and dogs, for a secure way to hang the heat lamp, and for a leak-proof floor for very, very messy ducklings. This tortoise house is perfect! I use puppy training pads under the bedding for the ducklings to make it easier to roll up the messy bedding but then the box is easily wiped out. I am now putting chicks in it. I just ordered a second house so I can hatch both ducklings and chicks at the same time and keep them separate. Might be ordering a third soon to get ready for hatching goslings next spring. Thank you Chewy!

I've tried 3 different houses and I like a few things and dislike a few things about each one. This one was decent to put together, but getting the plastic off

I've tried 3 different houses and I like a few things and dislike a few things about each one. This one was decent to put together, but getting the plastic off the windows was a huge pain. It smelled strong out of the box so had to let it sit for a week or two. Other than that I like it. The window part is a great feature. The screen is sturdy. The lids have things to hold them up. The latches work nicely. The house itself is sturdy and nice looking. We are getting another one to attach to it. I will try updating my review once that's complete.
