Instructions

Say Hi to Advecta

Caring for your cat shouldn’t be expensive or complicated. Advecta Plus for Cats delivers long-lasting flea protection without breaking the bank.

Break The Cycle

One topical treatment of Advecta Plus for Cats kills fleas for up to 30 days, without a prescription. It also kills the flea larvae and eggs to break the flea lifecycle and stop them from spreading. This waterproof formula starts protecting within 12 hours of application and works through contact, so pests don’t have to bite your cat to die.

How to apply

  1. Separate one tube from the others. Hold the tube with the notched end pointing up and away from your face and body. Use scissors to cut off the narrow end at the notches along the line.
  2. Invert the tube over your cat and use the open end to part the cat's hair between the shoulder blades.
  3. Squeeze the tube firmly to apply all the solution to the cat's skin in that spot. Hold the cat for a few seconds to give the solution time to be absorbed.

Accurate Dosing for Every Cat Size

Each applicator is filled appropriately for specific weight ranges. Tubes for smaller cats contain less solution that tubes for cats of a larger size. Be sure to squeeze the tube firmly to apply the entire dose to the skin.

Questions & Answers

2 Customer Questions

Treated all 8 cats at the same time, deep cleaned the house, washed all the beds and soft snuggle items, but fleas were evident on the cats again within 2 days. What did I do wrong?

Can a flea collar be worn after you have used the topical treatment.

Answer by ChewyJun 12, 2026
It is not recommended to use an additional flea and tick product at the same time. Using multiple flea and tick treatments together may result in an overdose of flea and tick medication. It is recommended to use only one flea and tick product at a time.

Same as Advantage II at 1/3 the cost

Advecta Flea Spot Treatment for Cats is a topical monthly solution designed to kill fleas quickly and stop infestations at every stage. It contains imidacloprid

Advecta Flea Spot Treatment for Cats is a topical monthly solution designed to kill fleas quickly and stop infestations at every stage. It contains imidacloprid and pyriproxyfen, the same active ingredients found in Advantage II for Cats, but is typically available at a much lower cost. The formula works through contact, so fleas do not need to bite to be eliminated. It targets adult fleas while also preventing eggs and larvae from developing, effectively breaking the flea life cycle and reducing the risk of reinfestation for up to 30 days. The treatment is applied once between the shoulder blades and is suitable for cats and kittens 8 weeks and older, weighing at least 5 pounds. Application is straightforward and designed for home use, though proper dosing based on weight is important. Temporary skin irritation can occur in some cats, and ingestion may cause mild symptoms such as drooling, so monitoring after use is recommended. Overall, it offers comparable active ingredients and protection to name brand options at roughly one third of the price, making it a practical alternative for routine flea control.

Working Well So Far

The outdoor colony I take care of were constantly scratching, so I decided to try Advecta Flea Spot Treatment on them. It apparently has the same active ingredients as Advantage II, which is what I used to use on my indoor cats for years before that stopped working for them. Advecta is so affordable compared to other topical flea treatments out there. I have only applied one dose, so I can’t really tell how it will work long term, but it has been a couple of weeks and I can already notice a difference. The cats are much more content and their scratching has decreased significantly. None of them appeared to be bothered by or have any adverse reactions to it after I applied it. I am really hoping this continues to work for them.

Overall good flea spot treatment

I have two cats who get to hang out in my backyard for a bit. I'm using Advecta Flea Spot Treatment to keep little ones protected from fleas. Plus, it's pretty affordable!

I have two cats who get to hang out in my backyard for a bit. I'm using Advecta Flea Spot Treatment to keep little ones protected from fleas. Plus, it's pretty affordable! The packaging does require scissors to open the applicator, which can be a bit inconvenient. Also, I feel it takes longer for the liquid to absorb compared to other spot treatments I've used. Happy flea free cat owner.

Finally, Peace for Our Cat Colony

I manage a small cat colony, and fleas were becoming a never-ending battle. After trying a few other products with mixed results, I decided to give Advecta Flea Spot Treatment for Cats (Over 9 lbs) a try — and I’m so glad I did! Within just a couple of days, I noticed a huge difference. The cats, who had been constantly scratching and biting at their fur, started to relax and groom normally again. The constant itching practically disappeared, and their coats are looking healthier and shinier than before. It’s easy to apply, even on our more skittish cats, and one dose per month keeps the fleas completely under control. After four months of consistent use, I can say this product really works — our colony went from restless and irritated to calm, content, and flea-free. Highly recommend Advecta for anyone caring for multiple cats — it’s effective, affordable, and delivers fast relief.

So far so good but has a very strong smell

First time using it and so far it has been working good for about a week now on my 2 indoor kitties. It is a good value for the amount you get and how long it last. Applying it to my kitties was fairly easy but one of my kitties does not like any strong smells and he squinted his eyes for a little while after and didn’t seem to like it on him. My other kitty didn’t seem to mind it at all. It does have a very strong smell. I’ll see how effective it is for the month and decide if I want to continue using it due to the strong smell.

I usually put the more expensive flea brand on a neighborhood feral cat but it’s been becoming unaffordable since we have our own indoor pets to take care of. When I received this I was thrilled and put it on the feral guy. It’s only been 2 days but there was no reaction at the site of application which is good. We will see if it gives continued protection throughout the month- fingers crossed!

A good option!

I was apprehensive to try this product. My bad had reaction to another brand, but my cat responded well to this product. I would definitely try this again.
