My rescue GSD, Ace, was positive for heart worms when he was found as a stray, and this is the medication the vet gave him once he finished treatments and tested negative (yay!). I love that this also treats/prevents ticks & fleas without having to give multiple medications. He's done so well on this that I refuse to try anything different. Also, I originally ordered this somewhere else online (they had a better deal) but they couldn't confirm my vet information and just canceled my order without even telling me why or giving me a chance to call the vet! This was out of stock at Chewy for a few weeks, but as soon as I saw it was back in stock I jumped on it. Chewy also had problems verifying my vet information, but quickly notified me to contact the vet while placing this item on hold. Vet was able to call Chewy and verify information within 24 hours, and the item was shipped the next day! So happy with customer service here, they are the BEST! Even with the delay this item is scheduled to be delivered only 2 days later than the rest of my order was! I am happy and so is Ace.

Effective Product Despite Being Messy

I purchased a tube of this from my veterinarian for a stray dog we acquired who had a pretty nasty case of fleas. We wanted a non-oral product that killed fleas and flea eggs. As we do not have a flea issues in my home and wanted something that would prevent one from developing. I generally use Revolution, but because of the introduction of newer products my vet no longer carries it in house and the only way to get it is online. We needed something that day. So I opted for this. I’ll start with the negatives- 1.)This products flea portion works with the skin oils, hence the “fleas don’t have to bite to be effected” claim they make. However, because of this the product is really greasy upon application and can take upwards of 24 hours to dry/spread. 2.) Because of how greasy it is, you have to be careful about petting your dog or having your dog touch you until the product dries. I made the error of applying it before leaving the clinic and had it all over my hands by the time we got home as I sat in the back seat with her. 3.) Because again of the dry time you’ll need to be careful about how your dog interacts with other animals. Certain levels of this product ingested or rubbed off can be toxic to other dogs, cats, or other species. So you’ll have to prevent interaction until drying. Positives- 1.) This is an oil based product so fleas do not have to bite in order to die. Which is excellent if you have a pet with flea allergies. 2.) One of only a handful of topical products for dogs that also treats intestinal worms. There are a few who do heartworms but not many that do intestinal. 3.) Effective against flea eggs, which means it will help end ALL stages of the flea cycle ending the infestation quicker and preventing it from spreading. 4.) Topical Medication so the risk of digestive upset is almost none. 5.) Also prevents heartworm 6.) Cost Effective this product is not over priced and with all that it provides is worth that money. All in all I would recommend this product, while I still prefer Revolution this product has passed my strict protocol for being put on my personal dogs.

As other reviews have mentioned, our greyhound came from Florida. Her stool samples kept coming positive for hookworms, although it didn’t really seem to be having a negative affect on her (no weight loss, runny poop, etc). We tried several courses of treatment and dewormers, and nothing worked for months. Once she got on advantage multi, the worms went away. I’m so thankful that our veterinarian did some research and found a tip to use this product.

Arrived super quick. I was able to place the order through Chewy Vet Care Cinco Ranch while Taters was in for a recheck. I love that now that he has a food allergy I have an effective, easy to use heartworm and flea prevention for him that’s topical. He hates pills and would only eat the one that he was allergic too so this is much easier!

We use this prevention along with Doxycycline (given quarterly) as part of our slow kill method for heartworm positive seniors. It is very effective when administered properly. We continue to use it as a preventive once the slow kill process has been completed. Great product.

I have been using this product nearly a year with my `1yo Heeler. It does as it says and works great. That being said; I noticed after the second month she would hide when I took the treatment out of the box and really didn't want me to apply it. It does have a strong odor so I wrote it off as that. BUT.... On application of her last dose we were getting ready to travel and giving her a bath and applying the treatment was the last order of business before we left. I pulled her out from under the table and applied the treatment as instructed and put her in the backseat. We hadn't gotten down the road but a couple miles and her still damp from the bath and the med on her back she shook. My face and the car all got a little dose of this product. My face felt like it was on fire seconds after exposure and I wiped if off me nearly immediately with a wet towel. It continued to burn for nearly an hour or so. Where ever the droplets of water/treatment hit the upholstery and the plastic trim in the car it was like acid had been splattered. It too was wiped off nearly immediately. Maybe 30 seconds after wiping it off me. The product ate through the vinyl and the faux metal plastic. You can actually feel the divots where it hit. All that said... Now I'm afraid this stuff is painful to my best friend. I of course want her to be safe but, I also don't want to burn her with something obviously caustic every month. I can tell you it really was pretty uncomfortable for me and if it had entered my eyes I'm not sure what would have happened. I've tried to research the web for solutions or information about this without success. If anyone has thoughts or similar experiences let me know. We're past due to give her the dose on the 1st. I haven't done so out of fear of hurting her. Any guidance would be appreciated.

This is what the shelter said they used on all dogs when we picked up our pup years ago, and we've used it ever since because we didn't know any better, and our vet said it was a good product. It works just fine - it prevents/kills things all in one product, whereas if you do the chews or injections, you have to use multiple products. We've never had an issue with our large dog while using this product, regarding fleas, ticks, heartworms, or anything else - and he spends quite a lot of time outside here in the midwest where all those pests and diseases are very prevalent. I don't love that the medicine is kind of stinky, and you have to administer it every month topically. After a while you get used to administering it, and it's not that big of a deal. Our dog is pest and disease-free, which is what I care about.

Our Shepsky refuses to take her heart worm and flea meds via pill. We tried every trick and treat with no success. Our vet recommended trying this topical medication instead. Our pup has no issues with us applying it and it seems to be working fine. No medical issues noted to date. If your dog does not like to take their meds in pill form, this might be a good alternative to try.

Our greyhound came to us from Florida where a particularly nasty hook worm has developed. The GPA gave us the information regarding the medication needed to treat it. Advantage Multi is one of the versions. On the good side, this topical medication protects our dogs from heart worms, fleas, ticks, and hook and pin worms. It's applied between the shoulders at the base of the neck. I was a little concerned because it looked rather oily. Yuck. But it was totally absorbed by the next morning. WOW! It's a little expensive to buy but I believe it's economical to use. And it's one medication rather than several to cover the concerns. Too many medications always concerns me.
