Thought our other food was “good enough”

Picked up a bag at our local store in one of those weird lapses where you don’t have dog food but it’s “in the mail”... there is no going back for us! The kibble

Picked up a bag at our local store in one of those weird lapses where you don’t have dog food but it’s “in the mail”... there is no going back for us! The kibble looks exceptional, I can break a piece in between my fingers and it GLISTENED with those good fats! My pup acts like thee kibbles are her treats, her poops are firm and regular. When I tried to work some of her old kibble in as treats she got itchy legs and runny poop (which had been every now and turns before). Look at the ingredients of this food and the food you serve your dog now. It IS more expensive but what if you didn’t have to buy treats anymore because your pup loved their food so much!! This is what I consider value I am cutting down on other treats (all made with crap just like MY favorite human treats!), her fur is gleaming and her attention is laser focused.

Seeing results already!

The groomer suggested Acana. Our pup is a 7 month old Doberman-Shepherd mix, and he’s on his second bag. We transitioned from Purina Pro-plan, which we weren’t having any problems with, we just believed there was better quality & nutrition available (the foster mom fed him pro plan, & we didn’t want to switch him too quickly so we waited 3 months). The biggest noticeable change is in his coat. He was shiny before, how he’s HIGH GLOSS. :) His coat is SUPER soft now. I won’t go into detail on his stool, I’ll just say that’s another big improvement. Even his energy seems more balanced; I can’t attribute that to diet definitely, however. It could just be ongoing training, routine, and transitioning out of puppy stage slowly. I’m very happy with our choice to switch. I like the brand quality and I’m liking the results.

After switching food for my puppy, I noticed a huge amount of flies attracted to her stool, but not my other dogs. (They’re on a specific diet-different brand) I looked up what could be wrong only to find this food is not good for them at all. Not well digested and reviews/ lawsuits of causing dogs heart problems. Am switching again. Sad I bought such a large bag.

I was worried about switching to a new food for my little chihuahua pup. He was originally on Purina Pro Puppy food, but Arcana was reviewed as a great quality and hadn't had any recalls. I gave him a few pieces (which are perfectly bite sized), and he was strung out on it. I gave him a few pieces in his bowl and even used some in his kong. Will definitely buy it again! Plus the bag comes with a resealable seal. Not a huge selling point but very convenient.

Higher price brand

I found this brand at a pet store when our usual brand was not sold at that store. I was out of dry food, so I got the bag then order through Chewy to get more food

I found this brand at a pet store when our usual brand was not sold at that store. I was out of dry food, so I got the bag then order through Chewy to get more food. My puppy loves this dry food. She doesn’t like to eat when no toppings on her food like broccoli, carrots or boiled chicken. She eats this dry food without any toppings on. She loves it so much. Only problem is this is higher price food.

I couldn’t imagine leaving a review for dog food, but this stuff is the real deal. I noticed an immediate and significant change: my dog (9mo husky-pitbull mix) suddenly had more energy and playfulness. She’s been picky in the past, but she eats every last kibble of this food. Only caveat is she seemed to itch more in the days following the introduction of this food, but that was probably coincidental, and it went away quickly.

I’ve been feeding Orijen from the same company to my now 72# puppy. They offer a no grain large puppy food. In an effort to trim by pet food budget I decided to try Acana puppy for a significant savings. I’d have preferred they had a large breed puppy food since my guy is on the large end for his breed but it’s a good food all around. He likes it and no tummy issues so that’s a plus.
