About Us
Save a Forgotten Equine (SAFE) is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of neglected or abused horses, providing them with the best opportunity for a permanent home and a lifetime of safety. SAFE supports Animal Control efforts in King County and beyond.
Since 2005, SAFE has been rescuing and rehabilitating horses that have been starved, neglected, abused or are unwanted. We have formal agreements in place with Animal Control agencies in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties to support their fight to protect horses in this region. SAFE also provides assistance to horse owners struggling to care for their animals in the current economy.
SAFE makes its home on a 10-acre farm in Snohomish WA (30 minutes northeast of Seattle) and operates with a small staff and a team of over 180 dedicated volunteers dedicated to the health and well-being of horses in Western WA. Learn more at www.safehorses.org. Volunteers needed and welcome!
